Crackle’s eating some of their own dog food since launch to produce this corporate viral video. This is the second in their Kung Fu series where grouper takes on the competition, with a noticeably higher production value. I don’t know what it is about working at Grouper that breeds a love of kung fu films (see their previous video), but the ending may be more justified with Sony’s backing.
There’s a more serious version available here.
From Crackle:

That’s classic, very funny post….

Damn that was gay.
That was a great video
Ouh, so unrealistic!
Funny for the rest of us…. Wonder how funny it is for Sony shareholders – this is what they have for $65 million purchase (not to forget a few unsettled lawuits)! OOOH just like in the movies – poor kid getting even…. okay let’s just hope the business world has movielike endings!
Hmmm interesting!!!
heh. I liked it. Good action which you rarely see unless watching a movie trailer.
whatever,
compare Grouper/Crackle’s traffic to Revver, Veoh, YouTube and all the others. It’s clear which companies are doing best.
sick video, liked that it was in japanese, gave it a cool touch
Awesome! Love the Japanese. Can’t wait to see more.
Hmmmm…. So Crackle thinks they can crack the online video market this late in the game? Their website doesn’t seem to differentiate very well. Great launch video though! Probably the best thing about the launch. At least Sony brought some style to the acquisition…
The quality of the video is good. Content is funny, but the main thing to me is that the quality is more clear than what I’m used to, so that’s nice. I’d check in on Crackle occasionally I think.
This particular bit of “viral marketing” is insulting. As if I am going to believe that ultra-mega-global-conglomerate Sony is just a little online video company being “bullied” by YouTube. Blogger Please!
Betamax? MiniDisc? MemoryStick? BlueRay? Those are the failed walled gardens that preceded – clear room in the TechCrunch Dead Pool for Crackle.
Amen Brother Todd.
hahaha…TOOB!
True that Todd! TechCrunch Dead Pool it is for Crackle.
OK.. I’m not a big fan of Sony’s products or business tactics.. But the launch video for Crackle was very entertaining. For a brief moment I was amost ready to cheer for Sony.. Hahaha.. Nice try Sony…. you almost got me there!
Pretty good…Though I don’t get the one after it – Handshake by Pat Smith.
