I like the moves Brightcove has been making. I think they're a company to watch. Plus they're cool people.

Am I the only person whose 5mbps cable connection is too slow to get smooth video from the Brightcove player?

[no matter WHO is providing the content]

What's interesting about this is that I believe Fox owns part of Roo which is a video network that competes with Brightcove.

This might not be a good sign for Roo.

FYI... Slightly related..

The http://myspace.com/fox Vista no play issue has been fixed.. Noticed this about a week ago.. They found a different plugin vendor..

FINALLY.. After the 24 season is over tho.. :-(

With this news however I anticipate that the 2008 season will be a much better experience.

Reading between the lines..

Murdoch puts in a bid to buy WSJ. WSJ uses Brightcove to distribute video now.. Murdoch decided to embrace the platform on hisSpace.com today.

GE wants WSJ now..

Someone blinks..

We all get TV in our browser one way or another.. If and when we want it...

Hopefully..

Seems very competitive with the NBC joint venture, no matter how you spin it... maybe this is a sign that there is a lack of confidence in the joint venture.

Just to clarify one point. The company-wide agreement announced today enables all Fox Entertainment Group properties (broadcast, cable and film studios) to use the Brightcove Internet TV service to launch ad-supported Internet video channels and consumer media campaigns on their websites. Several Fox cable networks have already launched Internet video channels using Brightcove. Fox has a number of online media initiatives and strategies underway. The deal does not replace Fox's internal Internet video capabilities nor does it preclude them from working with other vendors in the space.

This seems like a conflict of interest with the new joint venture with NBC, or am I missing something?
