The guys at PDG+creative created a TechCrunch application for Facebook. Nothing fancy, it simply adds the titles of the last ten TechCrunch headlines to your profile. Get the TechCrunch Facebook app here.

Why would I want TechCrunch posts on Facebook?
^^ duh to drive traffic to TC
added the app, works great
It would be even nicer it they added SNAP-like previews for each headline
Have you ever thought of putting in a auto updating sidebar featuring links to the last 20 comments
Thanks for uploading this, it gave me something to read on my lunch break.
Even better. I added Google Reader’s shared feeds to my Facebook Profile. Now only the BEST TechCrunch posts go onto my Facebook profile, not all of them.
Really, things like this offer zero value to a consumer or end user. If you’re going to add an application, at least give it some kind of functionality that would make it useful to me.
Congrats, works well!
Thanks Mike for this great app.
Now I have one more reason to use Facebook. I signed up with the recent Facebook adds apps report.
Cool man gr8 progress.
I could totally see college kids adding TechCrunch headlines to their Facebook profiles…
No, not really…
one issue, when you downloand the app and want to view at artile, the link directs you away from Facebook…if you could see the article in a pop up or as someone suggested a SNAP style preview that would be much better!!
Michael,
Your inbox looks full.
Why would I add this to my Facebook profile?
Wouldn’t a much better application be “My last comments on TechCrunch,” or “Favorite TechCrunch stories,” or “Recently read TC stories”?
Pointless app. Needs something edgy or innovative features to get me to add the application. I check FBK and TC everyday, this application is of no value to me.
I can understand why Mike or the other writers might have one of these on their profile, but I fail to see why anyone else would. It adds nothing of value to a facebook profile for a regular user. I’ll be interested to see how many users it has in a couple of months time unless it provides some significant new functionality. It has 184 at the moment. I predict ‘facebook deadpool’ status.
What qikki said.
I think this is really interesting!
TechCrunch - a blog who claims to follow and report on innovative startups & ideas decided to release a Facebook application that does essentially nothing. There are 10 different RSS readers for Facebook now so if someone wanted TechCrunch on their profile they could already have it.
This is just another example of TechCrunch being part of the problem and not part of those who are trying to build & drive innovation. I completely agree with Ryan that there could have been 100 different interesting ways that actually drove value for the end user that TechCrunch could have easily implemented to make their widget more than a “me too” application.
To all you lemmings who wrote congrats I would like to offer my congrats to you for really pushing people to be innovative!
Wow, sure are a lot of haters for the first release of something. There are plans for more social interaction, but for the moment, the application is opening up more people to TechCrunch to help grow the reader base.
It has a nice interface, and plenty of display options for your profile.
only slightly more useful then a FaceBook App …
- that just pushes a ad for Techcrunch…..
- Mike please tell me; the numbers in a week / month / 3 months
- so I can measure how your longtail is doing
