LiveBlogging the Apple WWDC Conference

jobshalo.pngThe Apple Worldwide Developers Conference opens today in San Francisco. We’ll be live blogging the event all morning over at CrunchGear. Jobs starts on stage at 10am PST. We’ll also be posting updates here on TechCrunch.

For those drinking the Apple Kool Aid, Daily Tech Talk has a translated version of a German website’s post of an alleged leaked copy of the keynote speech. Yes, Mein Jobs apparently now speaks German, although as Pete Mortensen writes at Wired’s Cult of the Mac, the entire document appears to be “ludicrous”.

Michael: Will You Or A Member of Your Team Be There Live Covering The Event As Well?

I couldn’t agree more with these vague predictions. I’m going to take this gamble a little further and predict a few details regarding your forecasts. First, I think there will be a more scalable iWeb where you could upgrade your .Mac account to include your own traditional (www.mysite.com) domain and further enhancements to the blog building functions. Also, I would love to see some of the GUI features on iTunes included in the iWeb site app. I guess my focus is on what they could do with the iWeb app to make it more useful and elegant.

    Did I say “Cover Flow”?

Apple might announce a 30GB widescreen iPod, with WiFi, and GPS - no phone? Probably not.

IPhone 3G is the only thing I want to hear…

Yawn. (sorry). I don’t know why but I never get into Apple’s hyped up announcements, for some reason.

I can’t believe that after all the posts about people potentially being offended (or not offended) about sticking Steve Jobs’ head on pictures of Jesus that you all would do it again. Kind of seems like a stupid thing to piss people off about.

though let me add, it doesn’t bother me. :)

and, it isn’t why Apple’s announcements never get me very excited.

If you guys think that tons of new features are going to be released at the WWDC (that will blow your mind), you will be severely disappointed. Why would Apple release everything they’ve got at the WWDC (new iMacs, touchscreen computers, huge new Leopard features, etc)? It’s just not smart business. Apple wants to spread out the release of new products. Right now, with the hype about the iPhone, Apple has got the public’s eye on them. And that doesn’t come out until June 29. So, Apple probably won’t release anything revolutionary until after the iPhone. It’s all about keeping hype and eyes on them.

Hello? Its a developers conference! You know, for people who develop and with the most advanced dev tools on the planet, not to mention how well the LAMP stack works on OSX, there just might be some interesting news to us developers!

As far as the picture goes, its offensive to me!

PR is a science. My guess is that *something* interesting will be released at a conference like this, but nothing that will blow your mind. Apple is focusing much of their PR on the iPhone and until it’s release (and then some) I wouldn’t expect too much of anything else.

The new versions of iLife and iWork are always expected. But, iLife integration for the iPhone? That doesn’t make sense. That’s as real as the spam I get.

    @10…iPhone…now in PINK!

Please stop the page from refreshing, it is impossible to read!!

  16. Google Apple

Google has announced a merger with Apple and the new company will be called ‘GOOPLE’. Michael Arrington will leave his role as blogger with TC and join the firm as their new General Counsel (back to his original career) for an undislosed salary that also includes stock options in the company that will make him kiss TC goodbye…

By the way, this is an exclusive information that is hidden on the servers of TC.

How come? Cos these are the two companies they are bothered about now.
