Mixercast can be used as slideshow player but it is *more* than that. You can pull data from Media RSS feeds.. I seet it as a mashup creation tool and also a syndication platform. There can be N number of smart-widgets that can be used for different purpose.

In their upcoming release, MixerCast will be incorporating live RSS updates to your player content (SplashCast) and finally let users make money through affiliate fees (FavoriteThingz, Amazon Affiliate Badge).”

Qoof has been allowing users to create video reviews and attach an affiliate link since March. We are still in beta and will be launching new releases in the next couple of months, but we have gotten some very positive feedback.

Brilliant! The future is here! Although I must wonder how long before all the entertainment lawyers put more / remove major restrictions and decide to pull rights and change the deal. I would love to see stats about how much the average person makes from advertising other people’s content. Less than $5 / month average?

I still think it is a great idea, and once all the media companies get on board and realize that they benefit from the exposure as much as a direct sale, it could be a really cool service.
