It's not TC articles that are "crappy" but the gutless comment flaming of Anonymous Webless Dickless Trolls.

At least Jay (trolling in Dumpster Life) has a URL. I respect that.

Jay (trollling in First Dumpster): you Harry Potter kissing flamer wanker. I don't have to be fucking "constructive" with you flimsy troll pukes.

You the Big Anti-TC? You slime the net.

@ bdb - thanks for the feedback. I agree that some stuff is "stealth" but oftentimes "stealth" is a coverup for "we don't really have a business model. We'll try to get a lot of users and then figure out what to do." Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Sometimes it remains to be seen - Meebo is a great example. Cool app with lots of traction but not sure of how they'll make a dime.

I think you're spot on that I look like the anti-TC, but I have a real start-up that I work at and TechCrunch does have a lot of good articles, it's just trending towards crappier ones recently.

@ vaspers - I don't eat out of a trash bin becuase I work at a place that makes money. You didn't refute any of my arguments and resorted to name calling. By your own definition of a troll that makes you one and lest you use your own (oh but you're calling me a troll), grow up and read my blog. Have any arguments? Write them down. Be constructive.

Clearly Digg has let some of its more stellar members out to play in the CrunchComments.

I'd only add: IM and their API are essential onramps for Twitter -- not just web and SMS; in fact, I primarily use Gtalk and TwitterBerry on my phone with Twitter -- never SMS.

Oh, and the new m.twitter.com is brilliant.

#48 (vaspers the grate): A lot more than what you think. Several Firefox extensions as well, some quite more complex than this one, but that's not important, is it? It's a nice extension, I just don't understant why would it cost $1,000 to develop. My guess is that something like that could be done in less than 10 hours - QA provided for free - which can be done by any seasoned programmer in his spare time (=cost zero) in just a few days. Now, if you're paying someone else $100/hour, then so be it.

Anyway, my comment was more a joke than anything else. The irony market is in an all-time low I guess. Take it easy.

Hey everyone, I kinda got lost following the last 70 or so comments since my last one, but we're switching the links to open new tabs. That should be ready monday. We are also going to correct the little bug next to the ads.

@ BDB #36: we hadn't thought of a ticker like thing, but its a good idea. allowing the input will be tough though.

in response to the flame war above, i am speachless.

Trolls, when cornered and exposed, resort to:

1. squealing "commands" ("stop! be quiet~! go y!==")

2. accusing the troll spotter of being a troll (trollish table turning)

3. acting wounded and innocent

4. pretending to not remember they start the flaming

5. refusing to reveal their real identities, if they have any

6. accusing the troll spotter of being "on something" or other juvenile tomfooleries

7. betraying their true desire to disrupt an online social tech community

8. making further slurs, but deflecting retaliatory replies with cries of hurt and outrage, often accompanied by multiple exclamation points

They *never* reveal who they are.

Anonymous Contrarian Trolls are big and juicy, and taste best with a Blue Moon with orange slice.
