Why is everyone hating on this website? When I use weather.com or the such, I am inundated by Ads, useless info, text boxes, scroll bars, "click here to go Pro messages", etc.

I like this site however I don't see anyone making a dime off of it (except for the domain name registrar). Not exactly Web 2.0 but neither is http://word.sc which I love and used to make sure that "inundated" was used correctly. ;)

Thanks for the tip on 4ca.st also.

We could get together and create simplesports.com. You do all of the work and I'll join in when it's time to sell out to SI or something.

ForecastAdvisor.com provides a simple forecast but also provides weather forecast accuracy statistics for each location (Accuweather, Weather Channel, etc.). You can also see how the forecast for a given date has changed over time.

@Rajiv, Ayal,Rajesh,etc.
ForecastAdvisor provides a nice permalink for each zipcode's forecast.

@datter
My submission for ForecastAdvisor.com to TechCrunch back in late 2006 was ignored, even though it has had coverage in many newspapers around the country and in The Numbers Guy column in the Wall Street Journal Online. Also, my comment about my site with live links has been "awaiting moderation" since 5:45am PDT this morning (almost 10 hours). I think that might answer your question.

Hopefully because this comment doesn't have live links, it won't be awaiting moderation for over 10 hours. Check out ForecastAdvisor.com, it does what simpleweather does, only with more.

- They get covered ...

- This app is nothing special; that a 15 yr old couldn't program.

What a bunch of pompous asswipes. You all are website snobs, and the fact that you took the time to comment on something you find so unremarkable tells me that you've got way too much free time on your hands. Go do something productive and FIND SOME NEW BUZZWORDS.

oh and I am forced to wonder if this wasn't "built" by one of CrunchGear’s writers... would it be getting covered here? I'm betting not.

Now to go slap together a simple web page that displays a cut down RSS feed of yesterdays sports scores. It's nothing you can't get anywhere, but this one will be mine.

Even though the project isn't underway yet I look forward to to getting covered here at TC when the build/beta/rollout phases are finished in about 15min.

If you like this, you might also want to check out ForecastAdvisor (http://www.forecastadvisor.com). It has an easy permalink, plus besides a simple weather forecast, it provides data on how accurate the different providers are for your city, based on data collected by ForecastWatch (http://www.forecastwatch.com).

For example, here is the URL for San Francisco:

http://www.forecastadvisor.com/California/SanFrancisco/94128/

You'll need to add your own logo and CSS to make it all Web 2.0ish though.

i don't know what's worse, the fact that this site is getting attention, the fact that there's widgets/websites/etc that already do this better, or the fact that your boy Vince had to "team up" with other people to make it!

but all that aside, don't let techcrunch commentor assholes crush your dreams. you go girl!

p.s. can someone turn on a dipshit filter on these comments so i don't have to read horrible grammar and irrelevant crap about why i should not get "marry??"
