With a tagline of “Broadcasting The Bedroom,” you can expect that new startup ScrewTube won’t be safe for surfing at work once it launches. For now, however, the site is nothing more than an innoffensive landing page and an email submission form. Like PornoTube, they plan to allow users to upload video that is currently restricted on YouTube - user generated videos that contain pornographic or other sexual content. This is a brain-dead easy business to make money - PornoTube turned into a top web destination virtually overnight after it launched last July.

it is funny though, how in US society movies showing gruesome violence, or rock songs with (self) destructive lyrics are never a point of discussion, and sex (or porn) in the media seems to trigger “public” disgust.
If this site hit. Then there will lot of Porn websites with AJAX - Social Networking - lol
38/39 - not really. The guy who helps me with SEO says not to write about this stuff because it can give TC a slightly “adult” ranking, which hurts us in normal (good) results. But I’ve never tried to maximize our SEO rankings, or otherwise do things “normally.” The only secret around here is that I write about what interests me. You should follow your passion, too, instead of looking for the conspiracy theory in everything.
I’m leaving your comments up but taking out the link. Your site is known for low level fraud (fake advertisers) and you’re playing on my trademark. If you want to trash me you should do it anonymously. I’m likely to delete your entire comment in the future if it’s under that name.
@53
If you wrote more quality articles instead of coving a blank homepage, then their would be no reason for anyone to trash you. The arguments made in 38/39 were legitimate as you know. It is not true that you (with a ‘trusted’ site) who writes about such content will get labeled with the adult badge. You should fire your seo guy as he clearly does not know what he is talking about, but this is just an excuse and we both know it.
It is true that you have had well over 100K hits from google for that pornotube article alone… That said, it’s a big number and some sites dont get that in a year, and when you write about a new site that is likely to get a lot of coverage and you do it with your PR8 page you KNOW you will outrank that site and most others for a long time. Thus you will steal its traffic and thunder. Good for business every time.
It’s a smart move for your business model to write articles that will be ahead of the curve and steal the thunder of what’s happening, it’s logical for you to do it, you would appear more honest if you just came out and said, yea so what, some articles I write will help the site…
No conspiracy here just a little logic!
Mike says this “But I’ve never tried to maximize our SEO rankings, or otherwise do things “normally.””
and then he says “The guy who helps me with SEO says”
so the former is clearly a load of bull…
“my buddy worked as a porn producer for 7 years. he said it quite succinctly:
“porn messes women up””
…or maybe messed up women go into porn.
Being in porn makes your penis grow huge.
Does playing basketball make you tall or do tall people play basketball?
Causality is a bitch.
Don’t get fooled folks, mike is smarter then you might think. It’s a little spin that all men with agnostic knowledge do…It’s probably his own web site and he is giving it the attention to grow just like PornoTube. Think about it, this guy’s website reaches so many people per day, it’s currently the 617th biggest website according to alexa. So obviously if mike isn’t retarded, he would use all of this audience to his own advantage. This post would probably be deleted because it’s so revealing. Sorry to burst the bubble Mike…And to the sheeple: wake up and read on wikipedia something called mind control techniques and get smart. He’s thinking just like freemasons / illuminatis
yes #57, you got me. I built up this blog by pretending to love startups, knowing that after just two years of doing so I could finally (FINALLY!) use the traffic to launch a porn site and secretly move the traffic to that new site. Everyone knows that people who like startups secretly crave porn, so my plan was perfect. Until you came along. Damn you. Damn you, sir.
I’d delete your comment but it won’t do any good. The news is out. My plan is foiled. Two years down the drain.
And this is like the…what, 3rd porn-version youtube clone? It’s far far away from an original idea, but it certainly sells, I’m sure they’ll get millions of hits in no time.
I worked with user-generated porn four years ago. In principle, it’s more palatable than cheap mass-produced porn.
You know what would make a ton of $$$…. cafepress for porn.. “Monetize your sex life.” Take videos, upload them, and share commissions with the site. Do the web 2.0 thing: tags, ratings, comments, etc. No ads. This would allow ANYONE to become a porn star. Let the community drive the whole thing to help find the quality content.
I looked into this and because of the theocratic porn laws you’d have to do a contract with each submitter if you want to charge cash for it. However, someone in another country could easily do this.
TechPorn, Mike? That’s just a big fetish
Everyone, lighten up.. I get the whole “oh lord it’s sex!” thing you got going around but really, give it a rest.. if you don’t like the article skip it! TechCrunch or Mike alike in no way attempt to make you read this.. if you feel it’s obtrusive, offensive or anything else that would perhaps even in the slightest kick you against the shins move on to the next article!
I agree with the very first post made, it’s a big big business but I couldn’t do it.. I respect Mike’s decision to review this although I perhaps would’ve waited a little longer till there was more than just a landing page.
