I have to say that I expected something a little more exciting. Our previous Joost coverage is here, and we have a long post on them coming up. Thanks Orli.

  1. Chris

Too bad they assume people know how to spell “Joost”

  2. Judson

meh… your right, I would have expected something more exciting than that.

  3. Matt

pretty sad for a first commercial…and a sleeper

  4. Michael

I’m excited about this spot. Much better than i would have expected.
But as Chris said, it isn’t the dutch spelling they announced a short while ago.

  5. Burak

Haha very nice for the first commercial

  6. ajadoniz

Some things shouldn’t be made in-house.

  7. Pranav Chavda

    I think it’s a cool ad…

  8. Fabian Schonholz

I not only did not like the commercial but find it boring and the same old stuff you see on TV. What a disappointment.

  9. Michael

I guess it is designed for a wide audience and not just for the people that followed its development since Venice Project.

  10. Dazed

now thats a good friday post! thx A

  11. Kelli

So what, we’re supposed to drink it? So Joost is an old man and we’re supposed to suck his fingers or something? Sorry guys but I don’t go in for those back door shenanigans. Sure I’m flattered, maybe even a little curious but my answer is no.

  12. Adrian Keys

I have to agree with you…it looks like an ad not even those steeped in “garage” tv would be proud to own.

  13. Dazed

    yeah right thats a sick AD 11 & 12

  14. Steve Morsa

…agree w/you, Michael…w/all the media attention, etc…expected more from “Juiced.”

  15. Nathan Kaiser

A little uninspired… If they want to get people excited about what they are doing, they have to sell the need / value / offering more effectively.

  16. john

    NOT!

  17. freitag

I kinda like the ad. It brings across the point.

  18. Shit Ad

    What a SHIT ad

jesus they could make something better than that shit

  19. buster

    i think it’s great!

  20. Brian Breslin

too bad Joost is a less exciting product than expected. i mean c’mon there isn’t that much content on it, and the quality isn’t “high quality” like they claim.

  21. John C

    Apple TV

    Fuck Joost TV

They’re dead before they even launch.

  22. jamie martin

neat graphics but misleading and doesn’t even show their logo, just the weird colorbars they have? like joe user knows how to spell “joost?”

  23. Matt

This is not actually a commercial its a webpage header and if you look at the page the video makes more sence .

    http://www.joost.com/whatsjoost.html

  24. Brian

to bad i dont have an invite heh. If anyone gets a chance, an invite sent my way would be awsome. raikura[AT]gmail.com

  25. Chris B

I aggree, with Matt, it makes so much more sence on their site. Since the product is still in beta, I think Joost deserves some lee-way for their lack of content, hopefully more is coming. If not, it’s obvously going to flop. About the quality, it would be cool if it get’s better but content is king and I think a great selection would over-rule a slight lack in perfect quality (look at YouTube for example)

  26. Dhawal

Could someone plz send me a Joost invitation. dhawalsinha[at]gmail.com

  27. Mo Kakwan

Cool ad, needs to be bigger though. This is supposed to revolutionize my life! That old man just mixed a couple jars and then stuck his finger in weird color goop. That’s not hardcore. I want an experience that makes me feel inspired and will bring joy in abundance. There needs to be an explosion and then a rainbow… or something. *laugh*

  28. Hyjak

I wish i could take this service for a test drive. i have used babelgum(it would be competition) its quality is ok but the content is weak.

If someone would grace me with an invite then djhyjak@gmail.com

  29. William Ryall

Quite possibly one of the dullest TV commercials ever. Did they get the summer intern to script this or what?

  30. Brian Laks

Not as good as the first iphone commercial… Hello?

  31. Jay (living in First Life)

This ad accomplishes none of the following crucial things:

    1. Tells me what on earth Joost does
    2. Tells me how I can find Joost or how I should spell it
    3. Gets me excited in any sort of way

    How worthless.

  32. Tom

Those drinks look delicious. I can’t wait to stock up at the supermarket. Joost is colorful, refreshing, and it glows too!

  33. Sean Mokai

    lame

  34. Ronald Lewis

Why is a website video being coined as a “commercial”? I’ve seen so many bloggers making the same assumption only because some retard posted it on YouTube. This is NOT a commercial, but simply a video on Joost.com which explains to *visitors* what Joost is.

    This is NOT a commercial.

  35. Good Ad

They shoulda had that old dude sculling some “JUICE” and then go

    JOOST - coming soon.

  36. LOLO

well, it seems to be a small-investment commercials. I am wondering how it is gonna to make audience stay watching the whole ad

  37. Jay (living in First Life)

    @34 Ronald Lewis

Regardless, this video accomplishes nothing. It’s worthless. What does it accomplish? It’s not even interesting. Geeks want to see hot babes, not a 60-year-old guy of ambigious Northern European origin.

  38. Josiah

On a related side note, JEWST.com is for sale, and no I don’t own it…

    wish I did though.

  39. adam

this is actually a great ad…i liked the way they explained it…

  40. Johnny

    They should add music.

  41. KwangErn Liew

Maybe they spent all their money on other things than marketing?

  42. Chris Tew

Can’t say I’m that excited about Joost - I reviewed it thoroughly a while ago but just don’t feel compelled to use it in anyway.

  43. Tom

I thought it was a sweet commercial. How will they monetize? with deals from PBS or ABC?

  44. buster

where is this long writeup on joost??

  45. Dennis Taylor

If anyone is feeling ‘joost charitable’ , I’d love an invite. Many thanks in advance!

  46. Dennis Taylor

dennis_k_taylor (a)(t) hot ma il (dot) com

  47. Ioannus de Verani

Hum. Why does everyone hate the commercial so much? I thought it was classy.

  48. chris

where’s my joost invite they’ve been promising me that since forever!

  49. Bleedin Obvious

It’s NOT a TV ad dumbasses.

It’s on their SITE, so you already know its called Joost.

Fuck me if you lot don’t walk around ALL DAY with your EYES CLOSED.

I wonder what Joost, is? I know I’ll log on to the site and find out,. Hey Presto this old geezer tells me!

    OR

I’m some sort of Techno Visionary! This product SUCKS ASS!! I rule.

Again. You peple are like, really rilly stoopid!!

  50. Steven Parker

The video quality is poor but the navigation is worse and the programming is for the lowest of the low—like for Homo Erectus drooling—they should just add the broadcasting of Fox News and they will earn a perfect ZERO for presenting something that is not worth a return visit EVER

  51. Drew Robertson

    Joost as in toast….it’s Dutch
