I'd like to provide a few brief follow-ups to some of the comments here, and bring you up to date on some recently added features.

[full disclosure -- I work for Portaga, the provider of TripSync. My comments are not intended as a solicitation -- just an update].

The app has recently been updated to allow one to change their password to something a bit more memorable than "“ZPRXL8RDQG".

We've also added the ability to modify individual segments of a trip -- e.g., changing the check-in date for a hotel or a car reservation without canceling the whole trip (this is unique: Expedia, for example, requires that you first cancel the hotel or car and rebook it, which may result in inventory problems or cancellation fees). Changing an air reservation online is coming soon.

We've also added notifications. You can request that a notification of a flight delay, cancellation, gate change, baggage claim area and other events be sent to you via email or SMS.

Development has given up sleeping for the second quarter. You will begin to see a number of new and very unique capabilities. You'll also see us popping up (or in-line) in in a number of places across the web. We aim to delight, surprise and empower.

best regards.

I view this tool as ideal for the simple reason that I can drag-n-change my travel plans in Outlook. This will work for our SMB -- geez, getting our Small Biz 2003 Server (along w/ InfoPath) installed and working was enough of a bear & diversion from our core tasks.

Great website! I love how fluid and easy this booking system is to use. Our company has around 80 employees, approximately 15 of who travel regularly. It would certainly make our office manager’s job a lot easier (since he has plenty of other tasks as well.) When I showed TripSync to him, he was jazzed by the hook-in for Outlook – he can’t wait to start organizing our company’s travelers’ lives with this great tool.

This is pretty nifty stuff. The application does some nice things. For example it knows that you're going to pick up your rental car after you land so it places the car reservation after the plane reservation in your list of reservations. Being able to look at all the options and then book air, hotel, car rental with one click is a time saver. Some of the good stuff isn't available yet on my Macbook Pro, but I still find Tripsync easier than the old way

I think Nick is right on. I could not believe how much easier this is than visiting dozens of websites to book one trip. One nit - I will like it better once I've figured out how to change my password to something I can remember - the one they assigned, something like "ZPRXL8RDQG - just does not roll off the tongue. Fortunately their automated way for getting me a new password is fast and easy.

TripSync is really amazing. I can do everything within one screen. I am going to bring this back to my company and recommend it to other small business owners in my circle. What a great product... finally someone has stepped up for the business travelers!

Watch Out Orbitz! For a new application TripSync has some great functionality. I can’t imagine how many hours of my life I would have back now if I could have just changed my flight by dragging and dropping the reservation in my calendar. Great Job!

If this really works, TripSync will be a life-altering event for small business people. I can't think of any greater hassle than trying to change my travel plans while on the road. As a small business owner, I don't have the luxury (or the budget) to hire a travel service, but even if I did, they're never open and operating when I need a hotel change in Indiana in the middle of the night. Plus, getting my itinerary into Outlook, and being able to change my plans (ie, MY LIFE) right from my PDA while on the road would be amazing. There are a lot of web 2.0 tools out there, most of which are cool, but few that actually contribute to the quality and productivity of my life. TripSync may be the first to do it. God knows Orbitz and Expedia have yet to design a tool for small business travelers. I'm just glad someone did.

TripSync isn't meant for an 8,000 employee company with an integrated trip planning solution. It's aimed at small to medium sized businesses that aren't going to run full enterprise systems like Resx and Sabre. The guys at TripSync told me that Sabre covers about 40% of all reservation inventory globally. There are also a few other large databases of this information aside from Sabre.

The company's internal study revealed that they are better or as good as the deal sites about 3/4 of the time.

I travel on a regular basis for a company with 8,000 employees as an SE. We use AMEX Business Travel (the 800lbs gorilla in this space), and while the interface of tripsync is much better, their travel inventory really sucks.

I tried booking a couple trips I have coming over the next few weeks, and they were able to show less than 10% of the inventory/choice AMEX shows us. Not sure where AMEX is pulling inventory data from, but looks like they certainly have a lot more pull.
