New Competition For PayPerPost (humor) (I think)

New service BegForPost takes on the ethically questionable PayPerPost service that allows advertisers to pay bloggers to write about their products.
BegForPost promises none of the ethical hassles of PayPerPost. There’s no payment, just begging for coverage:
You’ve worked for months building a startup on a boostrap budget and the launch is near. How will you get an initial influx of traffic to propel your product/service into viral bliss? Don’t pay off bloggers to promote your startup, beg! Getting started is quick and easy. Fill out the form below, sit back, and wait for Internet stardom. You’re almost there!
* Completely free
* No chicken hats
* No conflicts of interest
* No annoying reality show
* No direct deployments to production
* No premature acquisition announcements
The first “begger” is Sparkmeter a “tool to help cut through the ‘08 election news.” They requesting a review on TechCrunch. Nice.
Our previous PayPerPost coverage is here. I expect a cease & desist letter from PPP to BFP to be arriving momentarily.

Nice!
What a service!
The idea is actually pretty good in that it would be nice if there was a centralized place to release tech startup press releases or site launch announcements, instead of having to go to each individual site and applying.
I don’t think that I could bring myself to beg! Just write a good ‘ole fashion press release or something……
This one submitted on begforpost seems to be a joke as well

The next generation of Question and Answer sites. Questions without the answers.
You’ve got it all wrong.
BegPerPost is the legit site.
PayPerPost is the parody.
Come on …. a VC funded spammer? That HAS to be parody dude!
Kevin
Next up.. PornForPost.. send me a naked picture of yourself, and I’ll say whatever you want.
Won’t be long now until someone tries to create a currency and accompanying marketplace around bloggers trading pr.
Damn, I wish I’d thought of that. That’s hilarious
This is a great idea.
I hope PPP leaves it be. If it gets enough attention it turns into an ad for PPP regardless.
Well, there will be a long list soon.
I hope they have a digg style voting system for all the ‘begs’ so that good ideas/begs/sites go to the top of the list (And pref. categorised - yes! that’s categorised with an S)
Awesome idea. I really want to know who is behind all this
Interesting…
Come on, you had to know that something like this was inevitable.
Great idea! This could be a clearing site where bored bloggers looking for something fresh to write about can go to.
Cool site - hope it works out well for the founder.
I want to get blogged. Blog me, someone - anyone.
It’s a cool site, but why has it got such less digs?????? Only 8 diggs in almost 8 hrs. Come on people, let’s support sites that help us keep the internet free. Digg on the site.. Help the site please..
I saw a neat by ‘http://www.businesscliparts.com’ tat got me laughing, it goes:
“Get the site some spotlight please.. I beg of you. And I don’t have enough bucks to pay per posts..”
and this “I want BegForPost to feature me… oh wait they just did!”
I think this site has a great future. Keep up the good job. And make sure to add some features to it.
The publishers link going to ‘wordpress’ was pretty dumb though as publishers are people who already own a blog.
If anyone wants to blog BigMediaVideo.com (http://www.bigmediavideo.com), have at it… Big Media’s answer to YouTube.
Next up.. PornForPost.. send me a naked picture of yourself, and I’ll say whatever you want.
That could actually work. Remember, naked pictures are highly monetizable content.
Can I have a Post on my blog please: http://www.u-g-h.com
It’s just a plain-ole business-tech blog, but I thought if I beg hard enough, someone might blog about me
Go on, please please please please, go on, go on
@Mike .. you sure you want a naked photo of me ?
Here’s the story behind BegForPost

That’s pretty funny. They already have this service though. I believe it’s called Digg.
HAHA I love the site! I think it’s hilarious. Maybe I will use the sites that are begging for interim content.
Digg? What are you talking about?
Interesting concept.
Ahhh - but is it all a joke? Who sets up a site for one month? Check out their footer:

I was considering begging for my pet web site (click my name) - as we need to keep expanding the awareness of the crisis facing Internet radio. Hey, you just read this comment, so I think I just did.
This is the most hilarious joke I have had today! I just have to blog about it…
