Bob Dingwell: Thanks. Not interested though. I have no bad feelings towards Cameron as I really don't know the guy at all. After reading a lot of comment threads on TechCrunch recently though, I have a whole new respect for Mike A's ability not to get mad at his commenters. I mean, my blog averages probably 40 or 50 comments per post -- sometimes more -- and everything just seems so civil most of the time.

Having the benefit of seeing this simultaneously with all of the comments (saving the assholity symposium for more serious study later), it seems the perfect combination of prankery/humor/political pointmaking and spanking would have been replacing the linked image with a simple notice stating

"This web page links to a copyrighted image here without permission and in violation of the terms of agreement and of US copyright law" etc.

That way nobody is offended, it's still a bit funny, (maybe more than a bit to those who don't like McCain's copyright position), and the discussion of the web site will be just as much "is the McCain campaign doing illegal stuff?" as "funny or not funny?"

Just went over to the MySpace site. Now the comment section has anti-McCain editorial cartoons from Mike Lukovich (sp?) and the Red Meat strip as well. This on top of the shitty layout.

They really should hire somebody better to do their maintenance.
