Yahoo Mixd, which launched in November 2006, closed down on February 25 (although nobody noticed until today).
Mixd competed with several group SMS services such as Zemble, Dodgeball, and Twitter. The last, Twitter, has recently stolen the bulk of media and blogger attention.
Mixd is now in the TechCrunch DeadPool.

lol - good.
i hate sites that replicate the originators.
mixd replicated flickr’s ‘R concept’ with their own D ending
i believe, all these mobile apps popping up now, are somewhat ahead of it’s time. at least for mass appeal profitability
You don’t like them because of the name? Considering Yahoo! paid a lot of good money for Flickr, I imagine they could feel justified changing the names of all of their properties to the abbreviated version…
Yahoor or Yahood, Colin?
I was thinking more along the lines of Yho!
The logo was kinda cool though.
SMS hasn’t caught up in US as much as in Asia.
