When we’re not spotting gadgets or watching Tron, the guys at CrunchGear like to travel. We will be at four shows this month and would love to get in touch with folks who are attending/like beer. Here’s the low-down:

  • Blake is at GDC 2007. Contact him at blake at crunchgear dot com.
  • Josh is at PMA 2007. Contact him at josh at crunchgear dot com.
  • John and Blake are at CTIA 2007. Get in touch with John at john at crunchgear dot com or call 7188136904 during the show.
  • Charlie Sorrel will be covering CeBIT. Contact info forthcoming.

Hope to hear from any CG or TC fans this month. We’d love to sit and chat/arm wrestle.

oh boy, what did charlie do wrong to get cebit!?

if you’ve not been before, take a good pair of walking shoes, charlie, and watch out for all the hirsute women.

at least the choice of beer is pretty good in the fatherland!

    ;-)

charlie gets to go to germany because after 3GSM in barcelona I don’t think I can handle another Euro “Drink All Night/Walk Around All Day” show. I’ll settle for Orlando, thank you very much.

I think I’ll skip the arm wrestling … haha.

    Anita :)

lol, fair enough, john - indeed, the european shows are - by comparison - pretty debauched affairs.

i am mightily relieved i rarely attend them nowadays … am surprised they are still deemed relevant, frankly.

they’re relevant simply because they reflect an entirely different mentality and ecosystem. it’s great for us because we get to see how the other half lives

I thought about taking the train and bringing a bike. Although I can probably fit my rollerskates into the suitcase.

Hirsute women, you say? Well, up North they need a little extra protection againt the cold. Please don’t judge them.

Remember. I’m doing this for YOU.

Would you ever consider NAB? It’s a big show, but even if you just spent a couple of days in the South Hall (LVCC) where the Apple’s, Avid’s and Adobe’s of the world hang out, you’d get to see some very cool technologies that are all about digital media capture, design and delivery (it’s not just traditional broadcast stuff anymore, and hasn’t been for a long time!). Just a thought…

Where can I download the game featured in that screenshot? It’s looking pretty interesting — is that the beta for Third Life? ;-)

Hei! Nothing against Cebit and other European conferences! Part of the fun is the fact that I need to fly 2 hours tops to get somewhere!

And looking forward meeting Charlie there - I am going to be there the whole time but I do the clever version: Not a normal blog where you have to cover all the cool stuff and gadgets but an event blog (and in German) ‘beyond the press release’. Meaning I will not need that walking shoes and will be able to have more fun ;) ;)

Let’s try to hook up and have some Cebit fun. ;)

great pixelated logo - reminds me a bit of “Day of Tentacle”

Looks nice but whats the point if you cant access data quickly.
