You may have noticed a few posts today written by retired TechCrunch writer Marshall Kirkpatrick, who recently left us to become Director of Content at Portland startup SplashCast. Marshall graciously agreed to come back and write for TechCrunch for the next week or so while I’m away in London to speak at the Future of Web Apps conference.
It’s good to see him back in the TechCrunch saddle. I miss his writing and look forward to reading his stuff.

Hey Marshall,
Great to see you back at TC, if only for a week. We missed you, man!
(well, I did)
Cheers

Great to see Marshall back, maybe we can see more of Nick too, I like his post as well
Its good to see that Michael is back in the fold. I have always enjoyed his writing.
Great to see you back Michael!

post your bio info on your site - i’d like to know more about who’s writing this stuff
Alright! I always liked his style of content. Shouldn’t he be writing this or this the formal re-introduction/handoff? Good luck Marhsall and have a safe trip Michael.
Well, I must say we sure are super psyched to have Marshall with us at SplashCast. He’s a class act.
BTW Is it me or is Michael winking on the FOWA site?
This ROCKS!
We all miss the Marshall laying down the law.
Goofy! hahah — can’t wait to see you when you get on that roll.

Marshall’s cool!
Welcome back Marshall. I really enjoy your work.
And posting frequency instantly jumps by 500%.
Nice to have you back, Marshall!
Saw you in the feed Marshall, welcome back to TC, we missed ya!
Came here after seeing Marshall in my feed!
While I’m here…Mike and Marshall…where have all the posts about the little guys gone? I would love to see some profiles of smaller startups that are doing cool things.
“X gets another X Million in Series X Funding” gets a bit boring after awhile.
Glad to have you back Marshall!
Good to see you back Marshall!
Glad to see you back here for a while, Marshall…of course I am biased; you rock wherever you are!

Glad to see you back and hope to see more write-ups on interesting start-ups. TC these days is no longer as interesting to me as before — too many gossips, and not enough interesting ideas
Marshall, great to hear we’ll be getting more of your writing, if only for a short time — though I assume the TC backlog will basically dictate what you’ll be posting about for the next week?
When people ask how is Web 1.0 different from Web 2.0, I’ll point to this very blog posting, and say: “When a big news blog can ‘ask’ one of its former writers to come back and do a favor and fill in for someone going on to a speaking engagement, now that’s friendship”. You wouldn’t see these kinds of favors asked for or granted when somebody became a turncoat and joined another startup. Especially when there was a billion dollars of venture capital involved. Kudos to Marshall for doing Mike a solid.
Yay Marshall.
For the next week or so? We don’t mind if the “or so” takes awhile.
Welcome back Marshall
Wow, thanks everybody! Your support is much appreciated.
Thats cool! Thanks for coming back Marshall.
Thanks for coming back to visit Marshall. You’ve always written very intersting stuff.
Welcome back Marshall! Looking forward to reading stuff from you again…
