Yahoo is way better. Have you guys even *looked* at the way it sorts and filters inbox search results? Gmail doesn’t even come close… Just because Gmail is by Google doesn’t make it better by default !

Well, I’ve read everyone’s comments and experimented with all 3 options- H, Y and G!- mainly because I am ready to ditch my next-to-useless provider, use a different wireless connection and a free email address.

Hotmail expires and deletes your archive if you don’t use it for a month.

Although I like the idea of having an “@rocketmail” address, Yahoo gives me the total whoopsies because I can only log in reliably about 50% of the time. When I can log in, I can’t always access messages and if I can access them I can’t always send replies without some sort of apologetic Yahoo error message popping up.

I sent a test email from my current address to Gmail and it arrived instantly, the delete and archiving functions were smooth and I was pretty impressed overall. I’m not fazed by the different format- I don’t imagine it will be difficult to learn and I suspect there are many more useful and cool things Gmail can do.

Frankly, I’m over being distracted by all the yahoo news each time I go to check via webmail, so Gmail is refreshing from that point of view.

Finally, my name starts with a G, so it seems very fitting

One question, will I be able to set up Outlook Express to download emails from my Gmail address?

I use Gmail and Yahoo! Mail but I think Yahoo! Mail is the best. You can put stationery on your message, you can IM anyone right in your e-mail, and the emotions are just so adorable. If you want something easy, simple and works super, choose Yahoo! Mail.

YEP I THINK THT IN MY POINT OF VIEW GMAIL IS LOTTTTTTTTTTT MORE BETTER AND YAHOO IS THE BEST. BECAUSE YAHOO HAS UNLIMITED STORAGE AND GMAIL HAS EVER COUNTING STORAGE. SO GMAIL AND YMAIL ROX WHEREAS HOTMAIL SUX TO THE CRORE.

Does it really matter which system someone else thinks is best? I suggest you try all three and choose the one that _you_ like best, not the one that someone else likes best. Don’t let the technological smarta$$e$ tell you what you should or should not be using. Find out for yourself.

I have used GMail, Windows Live Mail and Yahoo Mail. Among all these I have found that GMail is the fastest and WLM is the slowest. I really love GMail for its awesome outlook, various themes, tagging etc. Tagging can be done effectively by creating filters. Also if you have a GMail id, you have virtually innumerable ids! namesurname@gmail.com is equal to namesurname@googlemail.com, name.surname@gmail.com, namesurname+something@gmail.com and many more. You can use this feature for creating filters and sorting your inbox. Three cheers for GMail…

I personally adore the multiple tabs in yahoo and would die without them. Really the only thing that bites about other mail services (and especially Google) is their lack of pleasing aesthetic. Redesign the look, please!!!

i think that hotmail is better because it depends on your computer performance and you can get used to it in a snap i tried using my friends g-mail today to see if i could send one… it took like 10 minutes for me just to figure out to make a new letter but thats just what I think…

Yahoo Mail is way better than those two and it’s UNLIMITED storage. You can choose between the mail classic and the new interface, both have IM and are amazing.

Gmail is ok if you’re gonna use Outlook or something otherwise it stinks.

Hotmail is trash.

With “Labels”, you don’t need folders. You can create as many labels as you want and you can even use labels as folders but that’d be silly because you can label an emails with multiple labels. Why waste that opportunity?

Oh and to: “FELECIA- Palm Beach”

Gmail has Labels.
Gmail has an address book.
& Gmail can send photos.

you “professional” guys can’t be serious about using gmail as your main account. You can’t even create folders! are you even serious?

Yahoo’s UI blows gmails out of the water & Yahoo offers unlimited storage.

I have both Yahoo and Gmail and use both, but Yahoo has the advantage
