If you missed the weekend posts, here’s a summary of what we wrote about. The CrunchGear guys are coving CES and MacWorld. While I was droning on about dying startups and the possible Web 2.0 Bubble, Oliver at MobileCrunch was playing with a really cool laster pointer (see image). I have no idea what it has to do with “mobile” but I want one.

We also launched the TechCrunch Forums last Friday. We’ll write an update later this week, but the early signs are great. People have started around 250 threads so far, with about 2,300 messages. Lots of good stuff going on there.

It’s probably a ‘wickedlaser’ (http://www.wickedlasers.com/). Those can pop balloons. Dont’ stare at them
you might get one from thinkgeek.
the particularity of green lasers is that the beam can be seen in the air, as opposed to red lasers that require steam or dust of fog to reveal them…
Yes, all, this was a Nexus Model from Wicked Lasers. The guys from there also commented on my post and if you click their name you get 5% off the normal price of their products. Good Times.

When I first seen the image with the laser, I instantly thought of Mike saying how cool it would be if Microsoft Street-Side had lasers. I thought this was an update to Street-Side telling us that we now have lasers LOL
Anyway, thanks for the link Stephan - I’m seriously considering one of those
These Lasers start out at 399$!!!! lol holy crap
But isn’t it worth ever penny? Now you can not only make cats chase the lase pointer but you can also hurt them with it :D.
(just kidding, I would never hurt an animal - I own a dog that takes care of the cats)
On the forums you need a “VC - Entrepreneur Corner” category so their can be open dicussion. Actual VC’s should be denoted by a special sign so Entrepreneur know they are chatting with a real VC.
Trust me, lasers are worth the money you spend on them. I’ve got one from http://www.dragonlasers.com This death star is 125mW and can do stuff like light matches, reach over head clouds and scare of Jehovah witnesses.
I recommend http://www.dragonlasers.com low prices (comparatively) and professional service.
I personally wouldn’t deal with those dragon lasers, from what i read on http://www.lasercommunity.com, they are the old and crappy lasers that Wicked used to sell. Furthermore, there are many reports on the forum of the 125mW lasers being underpowered from dragon, so essentially, unless you have a 500$ meter, dragon will send you a 75mW laser when you buy a 125mW laser.
