I know this post is a year and a half old, but you're still an idiot. Did you read the article where he trashes the company he invested in? Also: you product probably isn't very good.

Mike,

Newsvine used to be my go-to place for the news (since it's launch) but strangely, since the launch of Daylife, I've only been reading news there.

It's awesome! They have done a stand-up job of giving me what I want where I want. I love the tasteful use of flash, and I love seeing the interconnected-ness.

I am really enjoying Daylife.

You invest in a company. You're on the board. And then you find out what the product offering is going to be when the product LAUNCHES?

Instead of being concerned about it the availability of RSS feeds, I'd worry about the business model and ROI.

"You must have Javascript and Flash version 8+ enabled to see this content."

So, this sites (main/first/covers page) is off limits to anyone running a WinNT box (yes we still exist, at least during the business day) or older web browsers.

I can browser through to 'Top Stories' but how many people will perservere when the first thing they see is the above message?

[...] The failure of the web connection during the breathless presentation of DayLife, the much-hyped next-generation automated news aggregator. Nevermind that the young, dressed-in-black presenter modestly described the site as the “single place for the world to converge and do news the way it should be done,” most of the audience was left wondering “what the hell is it?” Most amusing was when someone in the audience mentioned that Michael Arrington, an investor in the project, had actually panned the tool. To this, a protective Heiferman, who works across the hall from DayLife, retorted: “Michael Arrington is an ass.” (For those especially interested in incestuous sniping by Web-world mini-moguls, please to see Nick Denton’s post about Daylife on Valleyway…and Jason Calacanis’ comments thereto.)
Michael,
Sorry to hear such words, but the words you are writing here are signaling to me that you can't be accomplished businessman and you're sounding so unprofessional. You shouldn't care what some digital maoist and cohorts are saying . Daylife is good, I have to say. No need to have RSS at all immediatly during first week.

It might not work that well as a portal, but try to think, what the technology uses could mean for professional users in media and corporate comms as a news management tool. Research on people, quotes, cross-linking, it´s all there, so if the folks get that automated to a larger extend, there will definetely be a market, and if in addition there will be a consumer version as a news aggregator thats just fine.

Well this is good , here is my two cents
Focus on the picture slider on the homepage , I guess that has a lot of value for people who dont like to read the news , but just like to skim through. There should be an autoplay button below so the stories scroll through like a presentation. Once you click on any the news appears with saving and arcival capabapities for the future. The picture slider with the news photos is very sttractive , news companies wil definately have an eye on it.

Michael, that's very honest of you and *very* cool. It takes a big person to say what you said when you made an investment.

Keith,

Thanks for the update. Sounds like you shifted your focus from classifieds to product search ("Froogle"). Good luck.
