    This is way too funny. It turns out I am 90% Iron Man (not too bad of company to be in since Dave Winer is also Iron Man), I don’t even know who Iron Man is… lol

    I just wanted to be Batman, ever since I was a little kid and I had the Batman plastic belt with all the gadgets. Turns out that I am only 40% Batman. Bummer.

    Mike, Don’t feel bad… It turns out I am 55% Wonder Woman. Ouch!

    “hits” ??? c’mon you should know better.

    Hits are each time a server gets a request for any file such as an image, style sheet, javascript file as well as the actual page and thus a HIGHLY arbitrary statistic.

    Hits as a statistic is hype-fodder that for the most part was added to the casket of NASDAQ correction in 2001.

    Here in Columbus, Ohio, there is a “40 under 40″ award event, honoring moving and shaking young entrepreneurs. The 2006 theme was superheros. Each honoree was “profiled” by describing the superpower they would most like to have.

    Overwhelmingly, top superpowers centered around power over TIME to get more things done. Power to make more time in a day; power to slow time; superspeed to get more done in same amount of time; power to be in two places at once; power to go anywhere instantly.

    Isn’t that fascinating?

    Ok, I disagree that this was a bad story - niches are big online, businesses and trends that play into niches are worth talking about. The fact that people love online polls isn’t a new thing but it’s worth thinking about how little real estate on your site can drive additional interest and traffic, which is what this site teaches me, at least. I like that TC throws in fun stuff on top of this - it gives everything a little personality.

    I’m humored by how many of us are concerned (even lightheartedly) by the gender of our superhero(ine) matches.

    Many of the results reported appear to be a mix of heroes and heroines, in spite of several questions on the (superhero) quiz that are clearly gender weighted (have you ever worn a push-up?). I think these results are encouraging and instructive - they shows us to be complex personalities, having a healthy mix of masculine and feminine characteristics, instead of neatly fitting into one or the other of these (artificially constructed) categories.

    I clearly remember not liking robin when i was young - i couldn’t get over how effeminate he was in comparison to batman (btw, i identify as male). Society is sadly very effective at teaching us to conform one way or another.
