CrunchGear This Week
by John Biggs on November 22, 2006

Gobble gobble — we at CrunchGear are taking a bit of a breather this holiday, but we’re giving away a full Proporta portable gear accessories kit to one lucky reader. All you have to do is send an email to contest @ crunchgear dot com with the subject “THANKS PROPORTA.” Just talk about the gadget you’re most thankful for and we’ll pick one winner at random.

Otherwise, we have news of the Treo 680, holiday gift ideas, and enough Wii and PS3 news to choke a horse. Happy Thanksgiving!

  • If I were into “Gear”, I would probably read that blog. But I’m not, so it’s kinda like advertising porn on PBS…

  • I agree – please keep the crunchgear off techcrunch, or at least more discrete.

  • Umm and who are you to give this orders? I for one like Crunch gear. And in my opinon, a site generating a total revenue currently in the 6 digits per month has pretty good reasons it does what it does. So bugger off.

  • ooof… that’s a hard one, Neo. I think they’ll just run neck and neck. Wii doesn’t even compare, power and graphics-wise, to the PS3 or 360, so the real race is between MS and Sony. I’d say both will sell just fine after the holidays. The PS3 is overpowered and the UI is pretty rough, but XBox isn’t selling well in Asia, where the hardcore gamers are. Blake says the PS3 is going to be the next competitive gaming platform, which I agree. It kind of levels the playing field for esports. The real key here is HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray, and that will sort itself out with dual format players.

  • Maybe I was being a bit touchy and scared by that weird illustration.

I, along with all these readers, are one of the reasons the site can generate revenue.

In addition, it’s great that you like crunchgear, and there’s nothing wrong with say… a “crunch network” sub navigation or chrome at the top of the page, but to fill the content of one site with the intended content of another doesn’t make sense, logistically. If you’re a fan of crunchgear, chances are better you’re subscribed to/visit that site frequently.

  • What if I send a mail with subject FOCK YOU PROPORTA ?

  • ive said it before and ill say it again, add the javascript crunch network to the top of this page as per crunchgear.

    and stop posting this shit

    ”peace out wrabbit”
