$5 isn’t exactly going to persuade anyone to do anything. Especially the type of people that would be attending this. If you want to get into the fee to encourage enrollment deal, it would have to be something considerable.

I do believe that TC should charge a token sum of perhaps $5 for party attendance. This prevents abuse of the system. The current setup allows people who have *no intention whatsoever* of attending, to reserve a place for themselves anyway. Levying the $5 fee would make people think twice before doing so. Besides, it’s an awfully small fee that shouldn’t hinder anyone serious about technology and Web 2.0 from attending. It also doesn’t hurt that the money can go towards subsidizing the event, or even towards a couple of lucky draw prizes.
