My daughter and I always watch American Idol. There is a website (can\'t remember what it is called) which tries to get people to vote for the ones who can\'t sing as well. So it tries to get people to vote for Sanyana!!...

You have to take the karaoke style singers out of your contest and force true performers to engage the sites. In order to match with American Idol you cant just be a run of the mill vocal singer. You have to actually know how to sing/perform. None of these sites will ever compete if people are just purely singing verbatim from a song trying to mimic the actual performer.

You guys are probably right...American Idol was SUCH a flop, I am sure no one made any money off of that one !?!? And an online talent contest where people submit videos IS pretty Web 1.0 - just like YouTube is soo Web 1.0 ?!?!?!

H&K will be clueless on how to do PR for MusicNation. What a waste of PR dollars. And, yes, they are the folks that brought you "astroturf" organizations and Bush war propaganda. They make Edelman, the PR firm embroiled in the Walmart "flogs", look like choir boys.

That's so disingenuous...though I'd expect nothing less from a company like Clear Channel.

Woud I stating the obvious to say this will probably (and hopefully) blow up in their smug faces?

This is the same Clear Channel who's founder and Chairman, Lowry Mays, said “We’re not in the business of providing well-researched music. We’re simply in the business of selling customers products.”

"I like both kinds of music, country and western."

They're still trying to make money on 1.0 ideas that they never quite grasped. Don't they have a new napster to recreate or something?

I want echo.com back!

Way to break it down.
