[...] There’s no doubt that the 8th TechCrunch Party in New York is going to be fun. It’ll be your chance to “ping the jukebox” with a text message. With partyStrands, music will not be programmed by just one person, it will be programmed by all those who “join the party”. partyStrands, a social programming tool, will play the music based on everybody’s tastes.
[...] Tech Crunch’s main revenue comes from 125×125 sponsorship buttons. The buttons cost $10,000 per month and there are six of them on the blog (seven last month). CPM banners ad sale via Federated Media brings in additional advertising income. There is also the Crunch Job Board, where companies can post open job opportunities. A 30-day posting cost $200. There were 20 new job postings on November 8, but the average seems to be 3 to 5 per day. Tech Crunch also profits from throwing parties and having companies sponsor them – the next party is in New York on November 16. All together, the Tech Crunch network brings in about $120,000 per month, according to Mr. Arrington. [...]

[...] Let’s begin by introducing TechCrunch. If you go to their page, they have 132K subscribed users. That’s a regular readership of 132,000+ people. In the blogosphere, that’s a hell of a lot of people. It’s so popular that within several hours of announcing TechCrunch 8 in New York City, the 450 spots were taken, and I missed the deadline by a few hours. (I was fortunate to have made the wait list.) TechCrunch is a blog that often explores startups. Its reviews are biased yet interesting. TechCrunch is updated multiple times daily and its content is damn good. I suppose that’s why people keep coming back, despite what may be duplicitious ethics (or so the opponents say).
[...] DictaBrain is being featured on the DemoCamp.ca website. Brilliantly shot and engineered by our friends Krispy and Chandra. Check it out. Personally I’m afraid to, unlike that other James Woods who does movies and stuff I don’t really enjoy seeing myself on film. Every time Sonya puts on our wedding video I run out of the house screaming Especially for the dancing part (looong story) its like watching a horror movie staring me. Speaking of Demo’s. Antony got us some tickets to the Techcrunch NYC party next month. Should prove interesting I hope to should the good folks in NYC all the we’ve been cooking up. I last saw the illustrious Mike Arrington in Cape Town South Africa about 6 months before he first launched TechCrunch. What a ride he’s had. R-o-c-k-S-t-a-r!! [...]

Hi, Mike. Please add me to wait list too please. I work for online ad company, and I am also interested in posting Korean version of TechCrunch. I am fluent in Korean and I have some friends in Korean Tech/Biz Community. Thanks in advance. Let me know if you invited me.

P.S. I see wait list ticket listed at eventbrite, but it wasn't available. I wasn't sure it was intended in that way or not though, so I am commenting.

Hi Mike- Jeff Pulver asked me to drop you a comment saying that he and I would like to attend the New York event. The eventbrite site says sold out, so please just let me know if we're invited.

Jeff extended the invite to the Network2 party the night before, yes?
