The impact of broadband on the Video Media is starting to have some industry changing effects......it seems the suddenly everyone is falling over themselves to get onto the new New Media from a year ago or so. I was at IBC in Amsterdam last week and the trend was marked there as well

This will be extremely interesting if one can use our concept of "MyPCTV" - ie hook a PC direct to the TV and bring it in directly over broadband. Works a treat with YouTube, and most people will trade content relevance for picture quality......w(h)ither IPTV?

I am also most curious about the assumptions behind advertising revenue in all this though.....something doesn't quite add up if everyone is doing it....will have to blog more on that tomorrow!

[...] NBC announced to stream “all of their new prime time shows” for free this fall. Each show will have a cast member, creator or producer “host a live blog immediately after the premiere episode,” according to the episode. Does this mean a live chat or several blog posts with comments enabled and responded to? One way or the other, it’s an interesting attempt to turn a streaming broadcast into a public event.
[...] The fact that NBC is going to start streaming prime time television shows online is GREAT news! I loved the fact that ESPN streamed the World Cup games on their site. The television industry is in trouble as the costs of bandwidth and broadband continually decrease. In my opinion, the industry has to evolve and embrace the internet to be successful…and this is a great step in the right direction for NBC. ALL television will be streamed online at some point, so congrats on leading the charge! « Where do you find Great Employees? | [...]

[...] The networks are finally listening up. NBC is planning to put new primetime shows online for free [via TechCrunch]. I hope they understand that the 18-34 demographic is spending more time in front of their computer than their TV and rather have TV shows, if at all they want to watch them, at their convenience.
