[...] Last Sunday, April 6, brought the launch of the long-awaited Facebook Chat. According to TechCrunch, the feature is so far only available to select members. According to Facebook, “we’re rolling this out slowly.” Not entirely surprising given the backlash that has previously occurred when FB releases new stuff without any warning or feedback and then people revolt.
[...] The next part is where Riya’s visual search technology and Flickr’s community comes into play. On Flickr photos are people-tagged — photos are tagged with people’s names to indicate who’s who.
For anyone who still reads this thread,

I decided to pose the real reasons behinds the Facebook revolt at my blog. A positive review about the truth being not what it seems. Others are mistaken to think privacy is strategic, or this event has weakened Facebook's position.

[...] On Tuesday, Facebook released two new tools called News Feed and Mini Feed. At first look I thought “I’m done, get me off this thing” much like a little kid on an amusement ride. These new tools essentially tell you exactly what every one of your friends has done on Facebook recently. A stalker’s heaven right? I don’t need to know what an ex-girlfriend posted on a friend’s wall at 3:20AM last night, nor do I want all of my female acquaintances to know that I am suddenly “In a Relationship.” These were my first reactions, and many of Facebook’s users have a similar opinion. In the last day or so membership in groups like “The New Facebook Sucks” and “Facebook or Stalker Paradise” has skyrocketed to well over 200,000 in a little more than a day. [...]
