these koolim guys are really starting to annoy me. i find these “i like koolim.com” comments in just about any threads that concern meebo, ebuddy, and wablet. these shameless plugs are just distasteful.

Privacy is a concern, whether or not the developers are Filipinos, Americans or Spanish. But let’s not jump the gun and kill off Wablet’s name before it can even get out of closed alpha. There’s no real reason to, unless of course you’re in a competing business. Then what you’re doing is just unfair play.

Wablet [i]is[/i] made by Americans and Spanish developers too, according to David Foote’s comment (#26). So let’s all forgo the racism, ok.

Besides, isn’t geo-location a non-issue especially on the internet, so why the concern if “all your IM passwords get sent to the Philippines?” Unless you think the “series of tubes” down here pass through an insecure toll booth with a Philippine government employee screening the data passing through it, then you’re really just stereotyping against the Filipinos.

Even more, Foote clearly said that the datacenters are in the US. So from his post on, everyone should just bury whatever angst they have against a company that has Filipinos in its roster and just enjoy some freedom fries. You don’t like the service, don’t use it. Isn’t that what democracy gives you?

well and just have one question about wablet … It seems like koolim and meebo and it just introduce that you can receive msgs like a chat?

If this app does not have SMS sending, it means that they do not have strong marketing contacts to Globe or Smart or Sun as of the moment or have not fully recovered from some problems the company went thru in the past.
