[...] Business 2.0 says Michael Arrington is a partying kind of guy. Arrington, a 36-year-old entrepreneur behind a long list of unrecognizable startups, has suddenly become one of the rising stars of Silicon Valley. Why? The answer lies in TechCrunch, Arrington’s blog about new technologies and companies. In the year since he launched the site, he has amassed such a strong following that he’s become a go-to person for VCs and tech execs looking to leak corporate tidbits or announce news.

[...] I’m going to apologize in advance again because these 150 wait list spots are going to go fast as well. If you are unable to get on the waitlist, see the Conduit ticket contest below in the sponsor area - they are giving away five tickets to the event. The only additional thing we might do to let more people in is auction off a few tickets for charity near the party date, as we did with TechCrunch 7 in Silicon Valley. [...]

[...] Hanep Hataw Hero 2005 was a pretty damn big anime convention, so I have high expectations for Hanep Hataw Hero 2006. Since Filipino anime fans are a connected bunch, Hero TV’s Eric Go should do what TechCrunch does: assign a unique tag for all social media related to this event. That way, Hero can encourage, aggregate, and track multimedia online buzz on the event. [...]

<strong>TechCrunch 7 - a different viewpoint...</strong>

Ok, by now you have seen the hundreds of pictures posted on FlickR and the BLOGs of luminaries like Guy Kawasaki and others. I’m not going to regurgitate all that. I am going to provide a view of the “hottest party in Silicon Valley” from another...

[...] I heard that a member was upset she couldn’t get into the TechCrunch party last week and wrote about it on the SVM blog. Silicon Valley Moms can’t be bothered with silly things like a wiki to simply sign up (the party was open to all), they go right the source of power - David Hornik. Or rather, David Hornik’s wife. Why should 700 OTHER people get to play while I am stuck at home watching my kids? I know that invites to Techcrunch were nearly impossible to get - but for god sake, I am best friends with his wife! My kids are best friends with HIS kids! So I may not be a 20 something hip cool blogger, but I am a mommy blogger! Doesn’t that count for something? [...]

[...] The guys at ConceptShare are doing some really cool work right now. Although shrowded in a heavy cloak of secrecy, the beta testing is coming soon and anyone lucky enough to be at the TechCrunch party got a sneak preview. For the rest of us, we can only drool over a view very small screenshots. Posted by Mario Parise Filed in Personal, Design, Programming [...]

[...] Last week, I wandered over to the TechCrunch 7 party - billed as the “Web 2.0 party of the year.” The event is mostly for new startups trying to hook up with venture capital firms, but I thought it’d be fun to go check out. However, it turns out that if you put “eBay” on your name tag you’re also a huge target for startups: I was only 10 minutes into the party before a guy came running up to me to pitch his company, and the third sentence out of his mouth was “acquire us! acquire us now before we take funding!” Needless to say I didn’t find the pitch particularly compelling.
