TechCrunch Party Tickets on eBay

We are in the final planning stages of the TechCrunch party at August Capital this Friday, August 18. There are over 700 confirmed attendees and the guest list is completely locked down.

There is still one last way to attend, however. We’ve put two tickets to the event up on eBay, with no minimum price. If you’d really like to go, you can bid for them here. 100% of the proceeds for this auction will be donated to the Entrepreneurs Foundation, a non profit.

The minimum auction time is 3 days, so this will not end until about 4 pm on Friday, just a couple of hours before the party. Good luck to bidders, and know that you are also supporting an exceptional charitable organization.

I’ll post a complete upate on the party tomorrow. It’s going to be crazy. But hopefully not this crazy.

Can I put my ticket on EBay and donate the proceeds to the “Kevin Burton Fund?”

    :=)

  2. Michael Arrington

sadly, transfers are not permitted. :-)

  3. Erik

You should have used our new eBay listing tool to do it! (www.listd.com)

    :)

  4. Brian Solis

Watch out Mike, there’s a bonus of $100 if that streaker is photographed next to you!

  5. Julia French

Thank you, for your support of the Entrepreneurs Foundation, much appreciated.

  6. Oliver

it’s my birthday, I should have been invited.
But yeah, great you move web forward.
    Techcrunch are the best.

    …so when’s the next party?…

“…and the guess list is completely locked down.”

    What? No additional guesses?!?

    That’s downright criminal.

  9. Michael Arrington

    smartass. :-)

  10. Skeptic

Is there still time to edit the wiki? :)

  11. Marshall Kirkpatrick

I’d offer that one question is not when but where the next party is.

  12. Alan Lewis

Should I take these tickets being listed on eBay as a sign that the whole Edgeio thing didn’t pan out?

  13. Michael Arrington

no, Alan. Just that edgeio doesn’t do auctions and your ancient walled garden does.

wtf? How about just a thank you?

  14. Wally

Been following the site since it launched last year and can’t believe how big the parties have gotten.

  15. Jeremy Wright

Looking forward to being there. Lots of old friends’ll be attending, so it should be a blast!

  16. Chris Lake

When will you next re-appear in London for a forthcoming TechCrunch Eurobash? ; )

    Michael,

Were all the names from the ‘posts’ after the first wiki site crashed, added to the list? I know of 1 in particular that did not make the list… Are those posts archived somewhere?

    Thanks in advance.

Any predictions to how high the bidding will go?

  20. dumbfounder

    wooooooo….top bidder!!! oh wait, this friday? I can’t go….

  21. Zoli Erdos

Blake, you’re reading my mind:-) Vote here - and you may just get the very-very-last ticket!

  22. Jeff Tidwell

Smells like another bubble to me.

  23. Larry Chiang

For CEOs that want to go but can’t afford it, Duck9 will break your winning eBay bid into ten monthly payments. If you’re flying in, you can finance your airline ticket or take 90days to pay interest free. If you’re driving in, Duck9 finances gas at 18.9% interest.

Because its for charity, we’re donating proceeds to EFBayArea.org too

  24. garth

You can do 1 day auctions if you have enough feedback.

I bet this auction gets pulled for not being an approved charity listing though, happens to a lot of well meaning people.

Where is your sense of humor Mike, Alan’s comment is the best one here.

  25. Peter Caputa

Have you guys thought about simply charging admission to begin with - and donating the proceeds to charity? Having a registration system that sets an upper limit on the number of registrations might alleviate that wiki issue too.

Are you planning a Boston based Tech Crunch gathering?

  26. Michael Arrington

I’ve thought about the first part of what you suggest but not the latter.

  27. Zoli Erdos

Haha… now everyone may be wondering if “the latter” refers to charity or Boston:-)

  28. Tony Gentile

Wow, hope I won’t get turned away at the door. This has gone from a nice friendly event to one where ppl are bidding on tickets?! Craziness Mike.
