[...] Preloadr is a Flickr-specific tool that uses the Flickr API, even for account sign-in. The service includes basic cropping, sharpening, color correction and other tools to enhance images. The fact that Preloadr is designed specifically to work with Flickr may not be an advantage - some of the other services are just as good or better and also offer Flickr integration.
There is also for mac fan the flickit widget which is a great tool for uploading your photos from your desktop to your flickr account. It's easy like a widget but powerfull as a real app.
test it, it's totally free

[...] One tool that I’m particularly interested in that you may have seen on TechCrunch is called Preloader. Self proclaimed as, “The best way to upload and optimize photos to Flickr” preloadr has piqued my interest. I’m a photoshop guy myself, but there have been many times when I’m away from the comforts of my home computer but would like to add a last minute touch up or convert to black and white. Honestly I don’t see myself using this on a day to day basis but it is neat to see third party products coming out for Flickr. [...]

Andy: There is obviously one logical explanation for this - to get bought out by Yahoo... although I'm not sure their strategy will work, since they are not located in the US. But good luck to them anyway!

I wonder when the realm of pictures/images will be folded into the telecom industry?

If it sounds far-fetched, consider how telecom's core was simply landline voice communications, but has expanded to long-distance, cell phone solutions, broadband, and television (cable or satellite). Oops, not to forget VoIP.

I see video services like google video or youtube getting integrated with telecom entertainment offerings, and I see so many new services related to image handling. I wonder when the telecom industry will start scooping up these image-related companies to become part of their offerings portfolio?

Regarding Flickr Tools - I'd like to add my own website, http://rss2pdf.com

We have a Flickr to PDF tool online that's free to use:
http://rss2pdf.com/flickr/

[Please note to use this, your Flickr images have to be made Public. Also, the number of images in the PDFs are limited by the number of images found in Flickr's own RSS feed for your photos.]

Just a minor thing. At least Preloader orginates from a Swiss company not a German. FYI, they speak sort of the same language but are still different like US vs. UK. Hope that is clear now. A precautionary note: Switzerland is not the same as Sweden. That one I'll cover next time if required. :-)
