But I don’t know, recently there’s something similar about the launch of website redesigns and the launch of new GM models year to year. Yea, they’re different, and the new models have a few cool new features; but the designers are held back from shaking the mold to hard – and they’re certainly not allowed to break it! The New York Times redesign was similar. Some cool multimedia additions and a wider span; but visually not too disimilar to the previous version. Tightened perhaps, like a tune up on an older model car; but not overhauled. To see the before and after, check out TechCrunch. Obviously, there are reasons that a recognized brand is reluctant to change its image or function too drastically overnight. It’s just a shame that, as spectators, we aren’t given the best performance because of that understandable hesitation. [...]
