Check IBackup’s Web-Manager to easily manage your images. Web-Manager is a browser-based application that lets you create folders, upload, webload files, rename, move, delete and share files or folders with others for collaborative access. It can automatically sense the presence of images in IBackup online your account and display an Image Gallery option. To view the thumbnails of all the images in a folder, you have to simply click on the Image Gallery link.’

You can share the images stored in your IBackup account by creating sharable links and emailing these links to your friends, partners and colleagues. You can exercise total control over the shared files by setting parameters like locking, adding password protection to prevent misuse, limiting the number of downloads for a file, enabling versioning to view history of changes made to files and even tell the link to expire, if the collaborator has activated it within a stipulated time. If there is a huge collection of images, you can search and find out the required files.

You can write enable the files so that others can edit or modify it and upload it back to your IBackup account. When you write enable the link, you can view the Activity Log that is generated
and know who has downloaded, modified the file and uploaded it back to your IBackup account.
Web-Manager is a totally safe option to store and manage your photos.

[...] Venture funded Carbonite (our review) offers similar services at a similar basic price point but without storage limits. See also MyFabrik’s interesting local storage partnership with Maxtor, extensive online UI but more expensive service. There’s also Earthlink’s WebLife, and StashSpace for similar functionality with video storage and editing. StreamLoad is one of the most interesting players in this vertical, offering large amounts of storage space for free or dirt cheap. Those are just a few of the most recent entries, there are quite a few others as well. [...]

You can load your Gmail account as a local harddrive on your Linux Computer so it is possible to use googlemail to set up a network drive to share files with your friends yust via drag n drop!.
Just search for GmailFS via google to download this hack for Linux or Windows you can also use your hacked gmail account to install programms on it!
But if you use it as a sharedrive with your friends it is really fun because it offers 3GB storage and is more secure and fast than normal filesharing!.

[...] Fabrik - founded by two ex-Maxtor-employees - is a web-service offering cheap online media-storage to end-users, similar to products like fluxiom or Earthlinks WebLife. according to TechCrunch, Fabrik will offer data-plans starting at 3 US$/month for 2 GBytes of data and unlimited traffic - compared to the 110 US$ fluxiom charges for 3 GByte that’s quite a bargain. this also indicates, that both companies target different audiences.
[...] Fabrik is a new online storage service, which offers secure storage for users at different plans. For example, at $3 per month, you can have 2 GB of online storage and unlimited transfers. Fabrik has now opened its doors to a limited amount of beta testers today where you can sign up here (hurry). What’s great about Fabrik is that it utilizes web 2.0 tools, including Ajax, tags and more. It also offers applications which users can use to keep certain files organized, such as photos and videos. In addition, you can also use Fabrik’s storage systems for local use. For more information, please visit the Fabrik website. Via ShareThese icons link to social bookmarking sites where readers can share and discover new web pages. [...]

and of course fluxiom, which got pannedfor its pricing . id like to see something ultramodular come out, in this space eg, a storage service that uses S3, but is advertising supported, or free if you buy some photo prints every 6 months, or something..
