There isn’t much info out there on San Francisco based zeeDive yet, but it promises to be a “new web” shopping experience with where users can find great deals on products. Right now it’s nothing more than a landing page. It was founded by Eric Metens.
I’m hearing of comparisons to Overstock and eBay, which have very different models. More on this as information becomes available.
Speaking of ecommerce, when’s boo.com relaunching?

Did anyone else read the company name as ‘ZeeDrive’?
yeah, I actually wrote it that way twice and had to correct it.
Interesting: Zee means Ocean in Dutch. So its a Dive into the ocean
Nothing says “clever marketing ploy” than picking a name that starts with the letter Z (guaranteeing bottom-barrel search results and directory listings) and has no meaning on its own. It’s like the opposite of Amazon cleverness.
This post should’ve been titled ‘ZeeDive preparing to take a nose dive’.
Having a name that starts with “z” is not a handicap, not does it “guarantee bottom-barrel search results”. Getting linked to is much more important than having a name starting at the top of the alphabet. Yahoo is an obvious example.
I vote a name change to ZeeDrive and a complete change of direction, whose with me?
It’ll be interesting to see what they have to offer, though don’t forget dealtagger, which offers a simple easy place for you to create your own personal price comparison site, definately worth checking out, http://www.deatagger.com
oops, helps if the url is correct… http://www.dealtagger.com
zee dive seems like it’s a way for people looking to make a few extra bucks who are already ditching their stuff on last-resort sites like Overstock.com.
i noticed a lot of products on zeedive were also on overstock.
ok, funny enough. i ordered a wrist watch on their service to test it out. In the box was a card from Overstock.com. are they partnered up?
