This is the first time I am hearing about Zixxo. But it looks like a promising place to get coupon information for newbee sites like http://www.couponchooser.com. By the way Couponchooser.com showcases a very limited set of coupons in a clutter free way. Just showing coupons in the Golf, Jewelry, Baby and Tech sections. The other good thing is they have a bunch of printable coupons as well.

[...] There are a few ways to look at Zixxo. For users they will deliver highly targeted local and national coupons to you based on whatever personal and demographic information you choose to share with them. For businesses, they are a very cost-effective way of reaching consumers who actually want to receive these coupons. For third parties there is a revenue share opportunity for bringing users and/or businesses to the network. Zixxo is still very young, but the core idea is strong. Look for a potential quick acquisition of this company if they start to get traction. [...]

[...] Here’s where I have a bit of a change of the typical skeptic tone. I don’t have much of a problem with ZiXXO giving it a shot. They’ve raised a handful of money (less than half a million dollars), have a small team, and a specific focus. Frankly, I think they don’t belong in the Web 2.0 category at all (much like Ether and Travelpost, two other interesting new services that just don’t seem to fit into the typical 2.0 world), as their service, for the most part, is focused on everyday businesses and customers. In fact, I think the company needs to get as far away from this description as possible: Silicon Valley based Zixxo has launched a great service that I asked for last year (#4 on this list) - local coupons via RSS. This is a very big market. [...]

I suggest another variation. Consumers may place their shopping list on a site. They may place their intention to buy a major product or service also. The site might match potential buyers and sellers and suggest to sellers to offer coupons to buyers. The site might get a small fee from the seller and/or the buyer.

Great idea. I like the site. I think adoption will be the challenge.

Any plans of a Spanish version?

The bulk of the initial coupons are national. As local coupons are added they go above national coupons on the "standard" directory view. You can use the advnaced search to narrow the view to local only. We are thinking about also allowing a local only option on the standard view.

Keep in mind that filtering the RSS and email to local only doesn't filter the standard directory view to local only. There is a lot to the app, so we apologize for areas where it isn't as clear as it should be.

I registered and the stupid website is showing me "Mountain Pizza" coupons for some place on the other side of the country and Arby's in San Jose! Even though I told it to only show local coupons.
