The domain for Windows Live Shopping is now live, notes Microsoft’s Iam McAllister, a program manager on MSN’s shopping platforms. No word yet on when the service will launch, but it will be a very large platform for retailers and buyers once it does.
Windows Live Shopping, along with Expo and MSN Shopping, is part of MSN Marketplaces. Additional information on their activities is here.

a post just to tell us that there’s a “coming soon” page? Just because it’s by Microsoft? I wish everybody would just stick to the facts. The Big Four Internet companies are Amazon, eBay, Google and Yahoo! Microsoft is a just a long bet.
To tell you the truth, other than a simple “wow factor”, MS Live isn’t really up to par. I can’t put my finger on it, but for some reason I just don’t like the look, feel, layout, etc..
They are a late to the party. I agree with an earlier comment — can’t see how this is newsworthy yet. Maybe once they launch, it might be worth noting, but MSFT just does not have the reputation and user support for an endeavor like this in my view.
I kind of agree about the newsworthiness of the domain being open but this is a blog, even though it’s a great news blog. And anybody that blogs as much as Arrington is going to toss in some things that seem important at the moment but might not be so important when one steps back or that seem important in terms of the blogger’s ongoing internal narrative tying all these posts together.
Shopping is not their domain anyways they should stick to creating software
It is interesting to see how the new shopping platform will be different from the current MSN beta shopping, available right now only to a limited number of sellers.
In truth, it’s another way to monetize their ads, so it makes sense (whether some people hate microsoft or not). And to be honest, more competition isn’t a bad thing. As shown by Windows, lack of competition can hurt in very real ways. So I say go Microsoft. Even if they fail, they force others to innovate… and that’s a good thing.
If microsoft can burst into the already crowded console market with the x-box, I really see no reason why they can’t succeed here if they are able to 1up the competitors.
Leave it to Microsoft to use a Web 2.0 “Beta” concept with a 1994 “Under Construction” user experience.
That said, this is going to be a retail snarf-o-rama.
Hang on…I got it…Snarfr

You forget ‘Apple’ and exclude ‘Microsoft’ explains that you probably need to update your memory.
(I don’t know why people ‘love to hate’ microsoft?)
Boring!
Sara – point taken.
