[...] There are three key features. First, Myspace users can set up an account at Nooz and link directly to their Myspace profile. At Nooz, users can review blog and other RSS feed news items by category and rate them (this leverages the Rojo Mojo Digg-Like functionality). The more votes a news item gets, the higher it appears within a particular category. New stories can also be submitted using a bookmark function. [...]

[...] Rojo takes a stab at solving the blog search relevance problem (which I discussed in the last paragraph of this post). Results are ranked according to freshness, total subscribers to the underlying feed, total “mojo” votes (a Digg-like feature - see here for a description), whether people have tagged the story (a sign that they liked it) and total number of times the post was read. This is an algorithm approach to relevance, similar to what Sphere and Bloglines have done (although with very different data points). And it seems to work - relevance is very good.
[...] Newsgator is another Bloglines competitor, which I ditched after two minutes of trying as it sucked. Check this for a good http://www.techcrunch.com/tag/Bloglines/“>Bloglines vs Newsgator Comparison. Rojo is one competitor that came really close thanks to it’s decent features and TAGGING as well. Recently Rojo has introduced a Digg like feature, which seems to be very interesting. But in the end Rojo still doesn’t impress me as much and I’m still sticking with Bloglines for now. Click here for the full list of Web-based Feed Readers. Something that has, however, recently really impressed me is Technorati’s Favorite Blogs. Really 2 seconds to add a blog to your favorites and I don’t really need folders or anything here to track my blogs. Though none of the features above are available here, it’s simplicity bowled me over inspite of the 50 Blogs limit, which should be atleast 100 (David Sifry, are you reading? Hmm..I think Sifry always checks Technorati for his name ). Moreover, I can add a simple Widget to my blog showcasing the latest posts in my favorites (Frames suck, I’d go with DIV’s anyday!) and a RSS Feed for that as well (I’d like a direct linked RSS Feed as the feed can’t be read always). However Technorati’s biggest problem continues to be the fact that it DOES not index all blogs and many of my fav’s posts miss my fav’s page. Another problem is that, many posts are not even shown, for no idea. The sidebar shows Blog Updated 1 hour ago but that post is not shown at all. Yes I know sometimes it might be more of an update, but mostly not! In the future, I’d definitely like to see Technorati rolling out a great Web-based RSS Reader out of this.
http://reddit.com
Reddit is somewhat similar, it has some help from Paul Graham.

This is another cool startup that he has a hand in: http://inklingmarkets.com "Buy and sell shares in what you believe will happen. The highest priced stock is the crowd's prediction."

And some cool cell phone / mobile phone (hey I'm English) Geo-Tagging site.

[...] Posted by C. Wess Daniels on 17 Mar 2006 at 07:04 pm | Tagged as: education, technology I switched over from bloglines to rojo about 3 months ago to handle all of my blog feeds. I did this mainly because it has a simple and easy to view user-interface and because of its tagging capilities. Since I first came over the rojo team has continued to develop and push forward in the features they offer (at no charge). They added a feedshare program - a way to share other’s feeds and in the process get a little exposure for your own blog. They have also just in the last couple days added some great new features which have been written about on by much bigger blogs over at techcrunch, and read/write I will not “reblog” here. Here I am mainly interested in saying a few things about its uses for the classroom. Since I first came over the rojo team has continued to develop and push forward in the features they offer (at no charge). They added a feedshare program – a way to share other’s feeds and in the process get a little exposure for your own blog. They have also just in the last couple days added some great new features which have been written about on by much bigger blogs over at techcrunch, and read/write I will not “reblog” here. Here I am mainly interested in saying a few things about its uses for the classroom.
Im not so sure what is 'new' about this.. I've had a 'by relevance' link on my account for at least a month now. Trouble is, I'm not sure how 'relevance' is derived by Rojo. Can someone clarify this?

I must confess, that I miss searchfox.com, which sort of watched what *I* paid attention to and ordered news based on that. After a few days it did a pretty good job of showing *me* what *I* wanted to see (and not what everyone else thought was interesting). That was progress, but sadly gone now.

Hmm. It sounds great for folks interested in keeping up with the most interesting articles, but maybe not for me. As a blogger, I try to avoid (though it is near impossible) blogging about the same things everyone else does. So this would push stories up the chain that everyone is already talking about, which, for me, wouldn't be what I need. Still, it's a neat feature, and well done.

Excellent, Rojo is getting better & better and with some bloglines features, it will clearly whip Bloglines's butt unless Bloglines really wakes up from it's deep slumber. I've tried both but personally it's Bloglines for me. Though I've always been searching for something better. http://chronotron.wordpress.com/2006/03/17/an-rss-alternative-to-bloglines/

@Mike:
1) Please increase the width of your comment form
2) Can you please do a full-time review of the top 5 web-based readers - Bloglines, Rojo, Newsgator, and 2 others and highlight their best features, shortcomings, comparing their functanality, etc. It's been long.

This Web-based RSS Race better get hot with a new-entry which provides the best of everything. I'm ready to jump. Is there any Web 2.0 coder reading this.

Cheers

I have been using Rojo for quite a while now and indeed it keeps on getting better:) I used to read my feeds on Bloglines but I prefer the way Rojo allows me to tag things.
