[...] I just don’t understand these newfangled online calendars, like the one Google is making. What is the draw to an online calendar app, as opposed to a desktop one? I personally am not very proud of my daily calendar, considering it’s usually blank, and when it does have something written, it’s usually something like, “psychiatrist appointment.” Why would I want to share this with anyone, and why would anyone be interested in seeing this? That’s what I don’t get about “public” online calendars. Who really cares if Jim John has a dentist appointment on Monday, or if Peggy Susan has to pick up her dry cleaning by 5?
Google Calendar (has it been abandoned in pursuit of gdrive ?). My opinion is that it's ok. It's too easy to accidentally slide the bars for the dates and I can't seem to get the reminders to work right. (It's too much trouble to set them). I do like it when my phone beeps (courtesy gCal) and reminds me to do something.

What would really be cool besides improved reminders/alarms would be a goaltracking feature, like say you wanted to lose 10 pounds by a certain date and could chart your progress.

The project does seem to be dead in the water, the gteam isn't tantalizing us with any new microfeatures to keep us hooked.
