Naked Conversations TechCrunch Party Tomorrow

I’m pretty excited about the Naked Conversations TechCrunch Party tomorrow night starting at 7 pm.

We’ve been working hard for weeks to get the event together and, thanks to our sponsors, this should be the best one so far. A huge tent is up in the back yard, food and drinks are on the way, and there will be plenty of people to help out with the event.

Attendees have been limited due only to space restrictions in my house. The final list of attendees is here. If you are not on the list, don’t worry, we’ll be having TechCrunch 6 soon. Please note, and I apologize for this, RSVP’s will be checked at the door and if you are not on the list, you will not be able to get in.

I want to take this opportunity once again to thank Robert Scoble and Shel Israel for having the party here, and to thank each of the sponsors of the event:

Eurekster Flock Kaboodle Pandora Pluck Rojo Zazzle

If you are attending the party, please use the tag “TechCrunch5″ on any publicly posted pictures. Thank you.

Sounds like a blast. You know it’s going to be off the hook with the Flock crew. =D

Since I won’t be there, just have Robert and Shel scan in there autographs. I can then just print them and stick them in my copy of the book :)

wish I can’t make it, should be good party. We’ve got to have one on 23d, after new release. Say hello to everybody!

We’re looking forward to the party, the more people we get in there, the more warmth we can generate.

Sounds like great event - wish it was a larger event, but have fun!

I’ll second the request for pics and outtakes - I’m sure there will be a lot of interesting conversations.

Jeff post about the Scotch reminded me that last time around there was a police sobriety checkpoint on the way out of Mike’s house, on Marsh Road.  I guess tonight we’ll find out if it was a coincidence … :-)

Yes please do videos, please. Videopodfrogcast the entire thing, interview everyone, ask about the product plans and developments. Get it all on tape. And then encode up a nice DVD, sending some choice bits to HDNet Films or me. ;) In fact, do this for ALL your Web 2.0 parties.

Get someone with at least a 24P cam, no Channel 9-style low-light cams, no blogger crap podcast cams, no shaky cams, tho 2D3 SteadyMove v1.2 for Premiere 2 corrects that greatly, but I am all FCP, Vegas and Avid (mainly Vegas). And maybe have someone shoot in PAL, converting with ATLANTIS 2, for that warm film tone. Get a few real video guys to document it all.

Noticed the geek crowds don’t do video right, so here’s my tips (free of charge):

Have 3 or 4 cam’s going for the main events, now don’t EVER turn the camera’s off, all master/master, so you can sync the audio and video later (Vegas a dream for this). Plug one to two cams into the main audio board, and have the others with shotguns for that warm ambience, plus have an mp3 recorder, just in case for tape switching purposes and later voice-overs.

Sort of broadcasting style switching, except in post-production where you will make better choices, plus makes editing that much easier, just a mark mark in preview, and then encode a final track. So live-style camera switching, only not Live. Doesn’t work if you turn the cam’s off and get outta sync. Events guys that don’t use this method will pull hair out in editing. Snippets you use at end or middle filler. But the events are a continual stream. Comprendo? :)
