We all showed up because there was an announcement on TechCrunch when it went live. The basic idea behind the service seems to be that you can associate a unique AJAX chat room with a URL. So if you wanted to set up a chat room for every blog post you make or photo you post, you can now do it as easily as doing comments. It’s a little featureless and unstable right now, but then that’s what the beta tag is for… Oh wait, it doesn’t say “beta” anywhere. Well, it doesn’t support a lot of things I’ve gotten used to in my few painful experiences with chat rooms like a “send” key, variable text color/style and a member list that doesn’t give me an epileptic seizure. I don’t think the relationship between these two is a “direct” one, and clearly both of them are providing “comment management” service. Chating on blog is not talking about the weather but the post subject expanded discussion. How widely, which mean not only on the certain blog, but also the other blogs talk about a similar topic. So, How widely these comments are tracked and intergrated into the current, how valuable the post will become. I haven’t chance to touch 3bubbles yet, but I’m sure coco have the potential to make this happen.

Are they really in direct competition with coComment? I know that they are both in the “bottom of the blogs” field. But surely blogs (some) could support chat even now when comments have become easy to organise.

They’re dying! They closed public register and I still not received any Email about their servcie. Yet on the other side, coco is providing more and more services.

Lots of people seem to be thinking that 3bubbles is not going to be very useful. Cool, but not useful.

Ajax chat is the same old IRC channels chat, just nicer.

This is a nifty gadget/application.
Still, for readers it will quickly become a waste of time… and for investors a waste of money.

how useful is it to be able to leave an anonymous comment? nickname only to post a comment versus required login? Think about the myspace postings…not sure how much people like being anonymous, but it’s different and sort of nostalgic to be able not to be immediatly tracked by everything we write.

A lot of people are going to be losing quite a bit. I’m surprised any sort of investor, or even the poor developers themselves, thought this was an idea that could make anyone any sort of money. I predict a life span of maybe two years, tops.

Bubble 2.0 sounds about right. So many tech startups, yet so little revenue. There better be ALOT of acquisitions taking place, or I feel that quite a few investors will be losing quite a bit.
