I am pleased to announce the launch of TechCrunch “en Français” at fr.techcrunch.com.

All TechCrunch content will be translated into French and posted within a day or so of the English version. The site is authored by the very talented Ouriel Ohayon, who will also write original content as well. If you speak/read French, TechCrunch in French may be for you. The RSS feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/francaistechcrunch.

Jeff Clavier, a French native who writes Software Only, will also make guest appearances on the site.

Wow… for his original content is he gonna feature French companies only? Are you gonna get those back here in English?

  2. Michael Arrington

Zoli, there are no limitations on what he writes about. Some of it will likely make its way in English to techcrunch.com.

Haha, I just did an Englisf>French>English roundtrip of this page on Google Translate:

Hi Zoli, actually babel/google translate applied from the english to french or the other way round is quite funny. I bet you’ll laugh at trying to decode the automated translation of french TechCrunch to english. have a look

Is is ‘TechCrunch France’ or ‘TechCrunch in French’?

If it’s the latter, then using the French flag as part of your logo is immensely annoying. (Perhaps you should put the Union Jack on the English version of TechCrunch just to be consistent?)

Sorry… just a big pet peeve of mine when web sites use nation-flags to represent languages. It’s soooo Web 1.0.

  11. Michael Arrington

Mana - #9 - Sorry about that. This seems to be the easiest way to let people know that the content is in French.

  12. cadich

Hey that’s great, but don’t you think it’s a bit odd to “duplicate” the info? Especially since Ouriel is adding some extra content to your posts, now I feel I have to check both of them…
Anyway, keep up the good work, I just love your site.

Would like to do a Chinese Translation of the site.
