Megite has been getting some attention on the Web 2.0 Workgroup email list as possibly the first company to be able to group blogging conversations as well as Memeorandum (profiles). The site is very rough design-wise, but is grouping things intelligently and seems to be popping popular stuff up to the top fairly quickly.
Memeorandum has redefined how early adopters get and digest their news. While these sites are still young, they will have a disruptive impact on the big guys, soon. Tailrank (profiles), another service in this space, is also doing interesting things, like analyzing user-uploaded OPML files for additional data and including a screen shot of the post/item under discussion.

We group blog conversations by link and text analysis at topix as well, e.g. http://www.topix.net/blogs
It’s a single rollup, not broken out into tech, politics, etc. like Memeorandum, but has a somewhat different flavor.
I got to add my two-pennys-worth in here: I really appreciate having Chuquet and Memeorandum (and Tailrank and Megite for that matter) mentioned in the same paragraphs, but I never designed Chuquet to be a Memeorandum clone. I just wanted to find interesting links!

yeah I’ve been watching these guys a fair bit lately as they’ve been coming up in my blog’s referal stats and Technorati links to my blog. It’s a bit disconcerting to see every post you write picked up at first (similar pattern in terms of some of those blogs that scrape content in terms of all the incoming links) but they seem to be developing a decent service.

I’ve always been a little concerned about ‘fair use’ in terms of how chuquet scans and redisplays blog content. I try to keep it appropriate and always ensure it’s attributed to the blog/feed that sourced it. it’s definately an interesting area and one I’ve not seen much chatter about. It’s hard to raise it in a way that is not seen as complaining. I see some real pros and cons with it all. There is a fine line there somewhere when it comes to using others content etc.
I don’t think megite crosses it - but others do leave me squirming a little.
So I assume I know the answer already, but…
The email list you mention - is there anyway to get on that?
I thought memeorandum was ugly, but this one is even worse… Comic Sans for a font? What is this, 1998?

Michael, just want to let you know that we, Megite, just released a new redesigned web site. Ater the new redesign, we got lots of good feedbacks from our users.
Megite improved the discover and ranking algorithm. Now it has much better quality. At the same time, they launched a new service: The River of News by using crowdsourcing.
