Naked Conversations Party at TechCrunch

UPDATE: This event is now full. I apologize to everyone who did not get on the wiki list.

The fifth TechCrunch Meetup is on Friday, February 17, 2006 at the TechCrunch house in Atherton, California. We will celebrate the launch of Naked Conversations, the new book by Shel Israel and Robert Scoble.

Bring your copy of Naked Conversations and get Shel and Robert’s autograph, or purchase a copy at the party at a significant discount.

Come help us celebrate with champagne, hors d’oeuvres, music by Pandora, podcasting by Podtech, a fully tented and heated backyard and other surprises.

As with all of our parties, late night demos will be held in the back room.

Due to space limitations, attendance is limited to the first 200 people who RSVP on the party wiki. Because of the crowd limitations we must observe, RSVP’s will be checked at the door and if you are not on the list, you will not be able to get in.

This will be our most extravagant event so far, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors:

Tried to add my name to the Wiki but it kept saying page locked.

    michael -

would still love to be a sponsor — since you initially said 5 and you now have 7, i must assume you have room for one more?

(seriously, please lemme know… i can at least bring the bottle openers ;)

  3. Robert Scoble

It sold out in about 1.5 hours. Unreal. Thanks everyone!

  4. Jeff

Ok, this SUCKS. I sat here for 45 minutes trying to get onto the wiki and now you said its FULL. Can I purchase a ticket? Sell these on ebay or something.

  5. Robert Scoble

    Jeff: send me email. rscoble@microsoft.com

  6. Holly

Yes, I have a slightly different story. My friend and I did get our names on the list, but somehow (whether intentionally or not), the names were erased. Then we sat there for about 45 min. trying to get into the WIKI :( I think I will drop you a line also Robert :)

  7. aaron

Are you holly liu/lu? I can vouch that you were on the list at one point because your name was similar to an old family friend, so it caught my attention.

  8. Holly

    Hi Aaron!

Yes it is Holly Liu. I, (along with Michael Li) were on the list (see revision: http://wiki.techcrunch.com/fif.....1137654125), and somehow someone or something other than us erased it, as the IP address is unique in the revisions list. Ah the openness of a WIKI. :) We’ll see what the organizers say… Thanks for vouching :)

The first 200 were properly noted and will be on the list.

Would be awesome if some new sponsor could kick down for renting a larger venue nearby to open the floodgates to the meet up. ;-)

  11. Richard

Can you please add more people to the party. Just charge.

  12. Kurt Schrader

If interest is so high, is it worth organizing something else on the same day for everyone that missed out? Perhaps we could just take over a bar somewhere and do our own demo thing. I posted something on my blog about it at

    http://kurt.karmalab.org/artic.....the-valley

    We can discuss there.

  13. Chris

    A bit Web 1.0, don’t you think?

    heh, reminders of bubble days…

  14. Michael Arrington

Chris - yes, except this isn’t a million dollar party.

  15. Seth Besmertnik

Michael - tried my best to make it in on time. Have a great party!

  16. Kevin Burton

    Hey… I’d still LOVE to go….

    1. If anyone RSVPd but can’t make it please let me know so I can take your spot :)

    2. Mind if we throw a crunch camp up in SF for people who can’t mmake it?!!

    Kevin

  17. Alex Popov

Kevin- there is a “crunch camp” -ish event up here in SF- its called SFWIN. In fact it was formed because many of us love Mike’s BBQ’s but a lot of us live up here in SF check it here:

I just snagged a copy of the book yesterday and I am starting it today prior to the NFL playoff games. Though I’d love to make another trip out to SF from snowy Chicago, I don’t think I can swing it that weekend to your party. I will be there in spirit. Have a Great Gatsby for me Mike (recipe below). ;)

As yet I still feel this book gave me too much ,although I did not understand all of the meaning.

  20. Tom Jackson
