YouSendIt.com sucks! The ads are way too annoying! I’ve started using a new service called http://www.YouSwap.com and so far it has been great. It allows you to send multiple files at a time (upto 1GB). and it’s fast…best service I’ve seen so far!

“yousendit” The Adware killed it for us.

We’ve been using yousendit for ages and was about to join as paying customers when I was alerted to the fact that some of our customers may not be ‘paying users’ therefore would be subjected to one of the most intrusive Adware’s we have come across.

We have had to run anti spyware and do a complete shutdown to get rid of the bloody adware and its effect on browsers the last two times we used it.

I tried using yousendit last night and it was like watching paint dry as i waited for the little bar to

tick…
tick…
tick…
ohhh…
tick…so very slowly across

..it got to about 13% and i couldn’t stand the wait any longer..hehe..
It was a quicktime file, not sure if that makes any difference.

Or you could just use Dliveo, its free and has no limits at all. Spyware free, spam free, private network. You can even track your sends, and the sender/receiver don’t need to be online at the same time.

It amazes me that anyone would operate a service like this when the barrier to entry is zero and there are so many competitors. In addition to the standalone services you can use free email to send large files up to (gmail is 10mb) and I would be willing to bet that most of these large file transfers are under 10mb.

On the other hand, you could run a service like this off surplus bandwidth you may have and no staff so it could be a nice little cash flow business assuming you can generate enough traffic to support an ad-driven model.
