Another Tool For Domain Name Nuts

AjaxWhois is similar to a site I wrote about a week ago called Instant Domain Search.
Ajaxwhois is similar to Instant Domain Search in that it has a nice Ajax interface. It’s has better functionality, though, because it pulls whois information directly into the results page and allow queries on top level domains beyond .com and .net (it even returned information for .name). While there is no link to register a domain (an easy addition), overall its a better tool for domain professionals.

I hope it’s not just a javascript worm all-over (like most of AJAX implementer). But it’s nice to have your search results displayed instantaneously.
Perhaps TechCrunch has its own Slashdotting effect, because the site doesn’t appear to be working.
I love it when I wish something existed, and then find out it already does.
The same thing happened to me with The Form Assembly, which provides a simple interface to build webforms. Last time I checked, there were still some odd interface quirks (like having to create your form from the top down or deal with the somewhat annoying task of promoting/demoting items to get them in the right order), but overall the service is exactly what I was looking for.
You bet it’s “similar” to instantdomainsearch. It’s simply a copy of the instantdomainsearch code that this guy put on his own site.
No, Carl (Ajax Whois) didn’t take any code from me. Here’s the cut-n-paste version:

In general, it’s great to see other sites inspired by mine. But please write your own code.
Here is the same thing but faster and more accurate:

Yes, pcnames.com seems to have surpassed AjaxWhois already. AjaxWhois’ 5 minutes of fame was nice anyway.

Does a bit more work for you
