I think these guys are funded by New Enterprise Associates (NEA), not KP. NEA funded the co-founders’ previous start-up, Zinio ( http://www.zinio.com )

We are currently working on improving the client and the web view.

One of the features to be added to the web view, is the possibility of zooming any album page on the browser.

Both picaboo and picasa suffer from not supporting Adobe RGB color profile. Probably licensing issue, but I have to use Adobe Photo Album – the pictures look so much better in that color space!

Michael, great review, but I considering the huge user basa Picasa has, I think a little comparison would be helpful > i.e. is it complementary to Picasa, or do I want to switch? If so, what makes me switch?

Bill, if you view a photo in their client, you can do that. This is something else they need to add to the web view.

One feature they need to add fast is click on a single photo and see a bigger version of it, inside the web-based album. I realize these photos are all on Flickr but in the general case there’s no way I’m downloading software just to get a better look at one or two pictures.

I work across a couple of computers and so continue to use a web-based reader (bloglines).

If I used only one PC for the majority of my time I reckon I might switch to a dedicated piece of software.
