[...] Stickis, which we covered briefly back in October last year is launching its service this afternoon. Stickis, at first glance is a FireFox and Internet Explorer plugin much like other web annotation programs, such as Fleck, Diigo, and Trailfire. Stickis does do the webpage “sticky note” annotation of these programs. However, Stickis is not just about marking up a single page. It is about creating and subscribing to “channels” of these notes and other data sources. [...]

I'm have trouble understanding why you think Stickies, Diigo and trailfire are in the same category.

Trailfire is a tool of self expression ... blogging light.
Diigo is a tool for research with advanced bookmarking features
Stickies feels like an advanced RSS reader. I've only had this one for about a week so i could be wrong...

The only thing i see in common is marking the pages or tags. What people use them for and how they present the content they create is VERY different.

[...] This is a relatively crowded space, the two services I’m most familiar with for collaborative annotation are TrailFire and Diigo. Stickis is just around the corner too. Fleck’s primary point of differentiation so far is that anyone can use it without creating an account or installing a browser plug-in. That could make all the difference. Other annotation services generally have a higher barrier to adoption by casual users. The primary barrier to using Fleck is that it only supports Firefox - hopefully that will change soon, because accessibility is what the service really has to offer so far. [...]

[...] I will say this, though. I like the idea of public and private “sticky” notes on a website (Activeweave promises this, and I saw a really great demo two months ago, but hasn’t launched yet). And I also like the ability to highlight multiple areas of a website in my bookmarks (Kaboodle does a great job of this). But, as you can see, for just about every feature, there are multiple companies already attacking the space with vigor. Good luck to all. It’s going to be a long, hard fight.
This sounds very similar to a plugin for firefox called "outfoxed". Same concept, users post reviews of sites as well as whether they are good, bad, neutral. Of course, "Stickis" sounds much more indepth.

Outfoxed can be found here for comparison:
