Yahoo released a blog search product tonight at 7 pm. John Battelle had the scoop.
Unlike their podcasting product, released last night, the blog search product is not much more than a quick add-on to Yahoo News. Frankly, I am more than disappointed.
Instead of launching a stand alone property, Yahoo has integrated blog search into Yahoo News. Blog search results are presented on the right side of normal results, in a side-bar type area. For an example, see this search on “Web 2.0″.

I’ve inserted a big red arrow and blew up the image to more than twice the size we normally use so that you can actually see the results in the right area of the page.
Yahoo has also integrated Flickr and My Web 2.0 results. It’s unclear how relevant the results are but at first glance there is significant room for improvement. I am finding the UI completely unusable.

This critics is unfound. I find the yahoo blog news combined search a better solution. We can see the main stream and grassroot side by side. What is better than this?
Yahoo makes the blogs appear in a box just like Adsense at Google.
I find them hard to see and by instinct automatically think they are ads.
I love this great idea, mix the news in the serachs with the posts of the blogs.
But tehere are some things to do better!!
Fisrt, the layout is very confuse! better two columns with same widht, one for news result and other for blogs.
And finally i think a lot of blogs are not shown in the results, only a little part of them!
Are you sure that all blogs who ping at blo.gs are in the search?
well, such a nice web i have ever seen and it seemed usefull web for me

I hope yaWho goes down. They are an asshole company that doesn’t listen to us little guys, the ones that used to pay their bills. They yanked me offline for some vague TOS violation, but would never tell me what it was. After months of trying to find out what crime I had comitted, I gave up, unpluged their service and haven’t looked back since. They deserve to die a slow and painful death.
