I hope yaWho goes down. They are an asshole company that doesn't listen to us little guys, the ones that used to pay their bills. They yanked me offline for some vague TOS violation, but would never tell me what it was. After months of trying to find out what crime I had comitted, I gave up, unpluged their service and haven't looked back since. They deserve to die a slow and painful death.

[...] A lot of people are focusing on the fact that the deal is incorporating blog content directly into Yahoo news results. While I find this interesting, we’ve already seen Yahoo experiment with this with their blog search product. Clearly Yahoo is defining the definition of news to include blogs (as they should), and I applaud this. [...]

I love this great idea, mix the news in the serachs with the posts of the blogs.
But tehere are some things to do better!!

Fisrt, the layout is very confuse! better two columns with same widht, one for news result and other for blogs.

And finally i think a lot of blogs are not shown in the results, only a little part of them!
Are you sure that all blogs who ping at blo.gs are in the search?

Yahoo makes the blogs appear in a box just like Adsense at Google.
I find them hard to see and by instinct automatically think they are ads.

[...] Yesterday Yahoo! added blog search results to their news search, and some people have been talking about it (here is the TechCrunch story on it). To put it simply, it’s yet another blog search engine, so there’s not much to talk about there. What I will talk about, though, is how the results are displayed, because that’s what I’m interested on. [...]

[...] Finally, those religious stories my mother read me have some use. I read in Tech Crunch that Yahoo! launched their blog search tonight to join fellow Goliath partner Google in taking on all us little blog search start ups. Initial impression: it’s a hard UI to work through and the results aren’t comprehensive - as an example, do a search on surfing competition which only delivers 5 results, of which 4 have nothing to do with surfing, nor surfing competition.
[...] Yahoo! has really been working hard this week! Just yesterday I was excited to announce Yahoo! Podcasts. Today, they made a press release stating that they are to release blog searching within their Yahoo! News search. TechCrunch has notified me about the release and I was definitely shocked to see this. John Battelle jumped on it right away and also asked a question about how rankings are being done for the blog results and I too am curious about how this is done. The search really isn’t much at this point, but after looking at what Yahoo! has done so far, I am assuming there will be more… [...]
