Service: Slawesome
Launched: September 24, 2005
Creator: Babak Nivi
Location: San Francisco

Slawesome, which demo’d at the TechCrunch Meetup last Thursday, is a neat tool for recording and sending voice messages via email.

Unlike vemail, slawesome does not require a download. And unlike Springdoo, Slawesome is free.

Once you’ve registered, you can record a message of up to 2 minutes and send it to any number of email addresses. A link to the file is included in the email. At this time there is no functionality for downloading the sound file.

Messages are archived and can be set to private or public status.

This is a young, raw service, but worth trying.

Disclaimer, Fred Oliveira, one of the TechCrunch editors (and site designer), worked on Slawesome.

you can use audio blogger instead. its free. you can use your cell phone and thinfs get RSS automatically!

  2. mojaam

Actually, this seems better then Audio Blogger. It’s certainly easier. You need a phone with audio blogger + blogger / lj account. This, all you need is a mic device. Neat!

    Mike,

You need to use your phone to record messages with Springdoo.

    Slawesome is completely web based.

Slawesome is awesome. I mean Slawesome is slawesome.

We have some interesting things planned…

Nivi, yeah, you are right, with springdoo you have to use a phone…although I see this as both a positive and a negative because I have my phone with me much more often than I have my laptop and internet access.

Nivi, did you trackback to this post without actually linking to it? Terrible manners. :-(
