Kiko (see our post below), an ajax calendar application, is working now and we were able to grab a screenshot. First impression: Kiko is a usable calendaring application with nice sharing features. Try it.

Would be sweet to see an integration of Kiko and Upcoming.org
I’ve tested Kiko out briefly. It worked fairly well although a couple things:
1. Interface still needs some work. A slicker/better skin would do the trick (and I’m sure they’re working on it).
2. Right-clicking is neat but can be confusing, especially since the calendar doesn’t really tell you explictly where to click. Sometimes you right-click and get your browser functions. So while it’s great to use right-click as a recognized desktop app “feature” it might not be the most usable unless there’s a clearer understanding of where you can right-click, what options you’ll get, etc.
I’ve also tried Trumba (trial) and it was decent.
Online calendars still suffer from being a tad sluggish and having limitations in supporting LARGE amounts of data. I think this is the biggest challenge for any online calendar development.
CalendarHub.com is also a free alternative to Trumba. It has a similar story to Kiko in that it was developed by 2 or 3 guys in a couple of months. Its still in beta, but they are accepting requests for accounts.
