<strong>Should you dump del.icio.us for Blinklist?</strong>

It was only a couple of days ago when I became a happy user of del.icio.us. My happiness did not last long, though, even if I thought I solved my bookmarking overload problem once for all.

Just like Simpy, Netvouz has been able to grab highlighted text and use that as description when bookmarking a site. Not only that, but Netvouz also extracts possible tags from the text so it's extremely easy to tag a bookmark with them. If no text is highlighted, Netvouz tries to find one from the bookmark's title instead.

Netvouz also has a feature similar to Blinklist "stars". We call it Hotpicks. Hotpicks makes it very easy to find your most used bookmarks - they're always displayed at the top of your bookmark page.

Gee thanks Michael! Especially for featuring my pic in this review. Please check BlinkList in 2 weeks - many of the features you're suggesting will be up and running. in fact we already put up the "narrow results" feature - we call it filtering. Thanks for the review.

Otis, cool. I always miss something (or in Simpy's case a lot of things). Thanks for clarifying.

Regarding "Blinklist will take any highlighted text on the screen and auto fill a description field with the text (this is the only service I know of that does this, and it’s incredibly useful)".

Simpy has been supporting this for a while. You can highlight any piece of text on a page, click on the bookmarklet, and the selected text will be in the "Note" field on the Link Add form. I always forget to highlight the text, and I tend to like to enter my own little description for each link, but the functionality is there, try it.

As a matter of fact, the same is true for saving Notes (not to be confused with the Note field associated with bookmarks).
